So guys just deployed Logic 12.3 the latest version and using guest accounts when students login. However although the packs have been installed the audio loops they dont seem to be appearing for the guest user? They have downloaded but then reprompts to install again! has anyone been able to solve this?

Its worth upgrading and will make a difference the only gripe i have is the pricing they charge for them and the lack of support for 3rd party tills! For price and coverage its robbery but they dont let us use a Touchscreen AIO or ePos which is like a quarter of the price. If they had better phone line support and more suitable responsive hours i wouldnt complain.

We use smoothwall cloud filter so we do not need to use RADIUS and then a hidden wifi with basic Adult and Malicous filter. if you use netsweeper there is a chrome addon.

Just a quick update guys, got way too carried away lol! Of course backups but i have realsied that SQL 2022 was already installed so went and changed the database compatibility to 2022. so far so good with testing and seems smooth. I have then updated to server 2025 in place upgrade and has worked fine. I would first recommend having DCs on 2025 first though as they requires a few infrastructure changes like mentioned on the other threads. Got staff coming in today inset so only support staff so any issues easy to rollback.

Change SQL Compatibility Level from 2012 (110) to 2016 (130) Install latest SQL provided from SIMS Docs and then attach inplace upgrade server to 2025 - (yes i done many times works a treat!) I done it a while back using ChatGPT just ask for the latest information for modern certs as efault gives you the legacy stuff and then push out to all clients and the DCs and other cert they will all need to be republshed.

You will need to use modern AD CA certs thats one thing i found once deployed worked a treat had 2025 DCs for over a year and all but one server is 2025 now.

Check LDAPS is setup, Rollover KGRBT Keys and you also need an AD CA server for LDAPS and you wont have any issues. took me months to figure!

wont work with logic unfortunately! i have thought about a dedicated NAS for this but logic yeah wont work well on cloud. Move everything onto cloud youll always have a server for something be it paxton, inventry etc... so youll more resources for logic.

I have 10GB/2.5GB/1GB Links ready but i'm presuming the mac would cache it when connected so its not constant it would be gradual? I rather have the music teachers need select sounds only but they want EVERYTHING!

All I ever wanted was Chrome Sync to be automatic just how Edge works but sadly no. I wanted to know if anyone may have figured out the sign-in options without any user interventions? I would not like like to use GCPW to sign in using the Google UI as that can be confusing for some. Has anyone figured out a way? So far i have Staff Portal/Student Portal that opens on first use which is a Google Sites and then adjusted the URL to match my school domain which then SSOs into microsoft and then logs in next is the pop up box prompting to ask for sync. this is so far the most efficient method and bypasses the 2-Step verification and forced sign in.

Literally just this on the PC group OUs and then no roaming profile path on PCs. Make sure you turned off all the roaming profile stuff, folder redirection can stay in place.

Are you still using roaming profiles? we use local ones now and they remove after 24 hours. This way stops all those weird profile issues and also isolates issues to machines not when they are moving. For teaching staff they remove after 2 weeks and for support staff they remove after 3 months.

I have found Techbuyer better than ETB for servers. Forgot I got them refurbed lol. cost is way too high for servers at the moment!
