Hi All, Looking to update my list of refurb suppliers, well create not update as I usually eBay. Does anyone have any decent refurb suppliers? Laptops, Chromebooks, Netowork Equipment, Screens etc...? Let me know!

I used to use 4GON now use them as a price match with other companies like MSTDist, Kuiper Tech etc.. they are listed on ubiquiti distributors page with what companies. Friendly people and quick delivery if in stock those 3 companies are decent and do POs etc.. Luckily saved quite alot and was able to buy unifi stuff for home quite cheap! Be going over to 2.5gb fibre for home soon lol so all the kit works with it.

Is this when the internet is slow or fast though? If its fluctuating can be related? maybe run a few speedtest.nets at the same time and see what happens.

Check your upload speeds, I know that if you got to 95-100% upload speed in use the rest of the network throttles right down and can sometimes kick people off the network. Set a Limit to 90% of the max upload speed to be used.

iPads 10th/11th gen grab a refurb from supplier or Ebay they work perfect. Also added ability to sync to google drive, photos onedrive etc...

What I have noticed recently is that a lot of people are using these tools to create websites and apps they all look the same it is really weird. Apps and Sites developed are fluent and they do databases which is all secured through them so not too bad of a shout. I am guessing a lot of other schools have websites where staff can adjust the site but still left with IT.

Yeah it’s late but the idea came to mind. thinking about AI and we’re using it a lot however I’m wondering if anyone has the idea and done it to recreate their school website using Lovable or other tools available? I wonder if this may be the key cutting costs effectively and not getting ripped off by education providers? Essentially it will be a AI-Website powered for schools and easy to work with and having a CMS. Edits are easy and designs always modern. I am sure if there’s other tools web based it maybe worth using too so not just paying for a single item. I use epraise private data apis now locked to our IP and restricted for custom built Attendance and epraise points. what’s your thoughts? Is it time to make our own stuff?

bruh what kind of advert was that Brave browser - are you using cloud filtering where it is done by extension? We are restricted to Chrome/Edge so uBlock was the best ways. T&Cs im not really too fussed. If they ban YouTube for schools it's probably safer that way then exposing young children to all sorts of ADs.

They have way too much power. it's every major tech company and toxic ads. Facebook ads were even worse I've seen full porn show up on that!

Apple Business Manager and school are basically the same. only a few select features. Why would you pay a third party company that supports Apple where as Apple offer it for free and give third party companies the rights to use it? Its a good move if your not using apple classroom and saves alot.

We go through Google workspace so blocks the app connectors unless we approve. I have only blocked adult domains from receiving or sending emails to i.e. PH

If you are charging higher prices than competitors as least back it up, I know the job market at the moment is not the best but there is no communications to say its busier than usual. I dont know about you guys but smoothwalls support have gone really downhill. takes a few day in 1st line and always goes to 2nd line. from there they barely respond with the least helpful information. I barely have any SLAs met. Switched over to cloudfilter in January but it's not what I expected at all. Is it time for me to move on once my renewal happens, any recommended partner to move over to? Cloudflare DNS is actually decent and free to move over to. I may be moving domain ownership later.

Its wifi 6, 6e, 7 in order of release so guidelines are not really clear, i dont think 6ghz is a must personally.

How come i am not able to use dimmable LED bulbs? Commercial/Home Lighting, 3phase etc.. im all good, DMX no clue lol!

If anyone does know we have DMX new and old stuff. how do you move to LED Bulbs for the dimmers from the halogen stuff? we have ALOT of halogen stuff.
