a dozen ipads

I have no ipads in school, I've asked that if ipads are purchased they must include management.  I assume an MDM is required, what is cost affective for 12 ipads, lock down settings and apps (etc)

Do you already use Microsoft Intune at all? if so, their iOS support is fairly decent and could be included in what you already have.

Mosyle has a free version, which may cover what you require for the 12 devices. Will they be "shared" iPads?

Couple years ago we purchased about 10 iPads to use for a similar case - shared devices in a classroom.

 

I used Mosyle back then (free version) to set restrictions, push apps etc.. worked well.

 

I still use Mosyle now to be honest (albeit we're now on the paid version, as our number of devices has increased from about 10 to 80 odd & i needed the extra management features)

Another vote for Mosyle free. They even set up the preliminary rules etc with us. I have said that if we get more than the 60 we now have that we need to pay as many "bulk" operations are "paid version only". Pushing out and removing apps etc is in free, as is onboarding.

Run Mosyle Free for 70 ipads here.  Does the job.  If i had hundreds of ipads I'd probably want something more $fully $featured but for £free it does the job well!

I did try Mosyle free a few years ago but found the interface a bit clunky. We now use jamf school, think its £5 per device per year.

Jamf is very good. Used to manage a few thousand iPads in a central Trust tenant, easy to use, and commands were picked up quicker than any other MDM I have used before.

Meraki here for our iPads. Our licenses are 'free' as we get them through the LGFL. 

 

Can't complain - does the job about as good as the rest of them in my experience.

 

Used Mosyle a long time ago, but they kept locking more and more features away behind the paywall. Understandable, but it wasn't feasible to continue managing our growing number of iPads.

Would recommend it for a small number though.

I use KRCS & pay £5, also were much cheaper than my previous supplier for iPads.

Jamf School - or Intune seems to be improving. We've been using Jamf School for years for the iPads - has some of the education specific stuff that Intune doesn't (yet). We pay £6 per device per year (+VAT)

Can't remember the exact amount but our 10 iPads cost under £3K and we signed up for Mosyle.

 

-Need ownership of the Apple site to download apps, also contains our purchased iPads. This was daunting because no one had ownership of it. I spent weeks trying to prove who I am.

-Setup all the profiles configs through Mosyle

 

Not perfect but pretty good.

We use Stone for our Jamf licence and on a 3 year contract it worked out at around £4.95
