Don't want to make you jealous but .... At my school they provide electric radiators if staff are not warm enough. Parts of the building are old and cold, parts new and warm. I have Raynaud's so if I am not warm enough my fingers go numb and won't work. Told management this and I got a toasty warm electric radiator right under my desk! I would also say asking you to bring in your own is totally unacceptable!

Had this. Stop all start up apps running that you don't need. Probably one drive or teams

"Old-school method of a Pupil Shared drive, mapped as 'P' is the tried and tested method." Same here The children have a simple link on their desktop to the shared area -

We have sharps and have had for several years. I would recommend them. Not many issues and if we do have one, the engineers are swift and expert at solving.
-
Got mine this morning. Thank you so much!! Socks are wonderful and I am weirdly excited by the pen!!
-
Same issue here, but weirdly only with one computer in school! And thanks, the print to PDF works as a get around
-
We have used sharp for several years. Have been impressed by how quick they come out to fix any issues we might have.

First let me say I am not an apple fan. Our school bought 68 ipads in 2015 and the main thing that I have been impressed with is reliability. I am going to say 'touch wood' first but..... All 68 are still in constant use and except for replacing 2 batteries, absolutely nothing has gone wrong with them in all that time.

You can download and use smart 19 for free, which is what we have done here. It is a 45 day trial and then reverts to a basic free version which is absolutely fine for us. After the 45 days the teacher just has to sign in with their work email address. Early days of this for us but its looking good so far! https://www.smarttech.com/products/education-software/smart-learning-suite/download#trial

As per this thread http://www.edugeek.net/forums/educational-software/209636-smart-notebook-education.html you can download a free trial of smart 19 and then keep the basic version for free after the trial. Works well for us

Had that exact op! Put it off for ages, but went for it in the end and it was the best thing I ever did! Minimal pain after the op (back at work within a week) and now totally cured from the condition.

Staff Home Directory Size - How big do you allow?
Jayellcee replied to gtg93's topic in General Chat
We have no limit set but we have disabled offline files, so we don't have a problem with sizes. -
Ditto. Took them all home and did it there.
-
Don't know if you can skip it or not but... We discovered when we went to claim on the warranty for one, that if they were bought from amazon, the account that bought them, has to register them so that they can be returned.

It would only be photos and yes they are shared. They are not taken home but they are taken out of school on trips. -
[ipad] ipad & configurator set passcode
Jayellcee replied to Jayellcee's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
Yes configurator2. Have looked through the options and can't see one either -
So we have over 100 ipads in our primary (managed with configurator) and at the moment they are set not to use passcodes, as we thought it would be annoying if the children changed them. The new DPO has told us to use passcodes! Have looked in configuratro but can't find what I need. I need to be able to set a passcode that the children cannot change Anyone know if this is possible?
