So comparing against the code for the old iSpy, the current whats new page doesnt run a search/replace across the pages threads list and remove then re-add threads at the top, I suspect this is due to the processing load on mobiles in particular as the page could become endless really.

I am looking at trying to add something browser side to iterate through the existing list of threads and remove the threads that get updated at the top but not ideally on mobiles. It is a bug bear and I would like it to update automatically like the old ispy did but that too has probably been done to stop browsers nerfing the tab if its in the background (chrome etc does that now if its not an active window)

Also looking at the old ispy code, it looks like everytime it got an updated thread it iterated through the table of results adding them all to an array then searched the array and removed before adding back in which seems not the best way to do the job but a lot of that code is over a decade old.

In this view it tells me to "Login to enable Automatic Updates" when I am logged in.

That’s weird. It should detect properly but I had to knock a quick hack up as the bots were putting huge load on the servers with auto polling.

We have put some of our new beta themes live for all to test, spacing changes are coming soon as well!

Look for the icon on the top right of the page when logged in.

Currently theme selection is account wide rather than browser based when logged in.

There is a yin yang on the right of each post to change the colours of posts for any with issues with background colours and text colours. Hitting it goes white then dark then theme.

Feedback welcome!

There are a few tweaks to come but if you find anything needed changing please post details and ideally a screenshot.

A few more themes will be coming with a few changed versions of dimmed.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask,

But could PowerShell/Batch be added to the code syntax highlighting options?

Loving the new dark mode!

I assume we're still moving forward without a mobile app and continuing to use the web interface?

For now anyway, I am still considering options once the other parts are live but Tapatalk has a lot of issues for anything non forums and they have not added much to prevent the influx of AI harvesting.

We have been getting waves of hits from AI bots all summer, onces who dont follow robots.txt sadly.

I am not against Tapatalk as such, I just wish it was a whole lot better. One option for Android is an app that allows better PWA performance but I need to test it first.

Really I would like a custom build app/open source base as I do prefer an app over PWA.

Powershell *should* work with with "C Languages" as a workaround for now.

The default Blue theme could be changed soon to add some light bordering around posts etc similar to the other themes:

Enabled for feedback, some spacing has been trimmed as well on parts of the site to allow more content above the fold, it only affects desktops for now.

Code boxes are white-on-grey in Dimmed theme, the yin yang button fixes it but looks fairly ugly whilst doing so:

When doing a mouseover on someone's username, it occasionally says "There was a problem loading this content". I can't see any pattern, for example if I put my mouse over ZeroHour's username in this thread against the post they made on October 3rd, I get the error. If I put my mouse over ZeroHour's username against the post they made on 6th October, it pops up with info about them.

This should be fixed, it was rate limiting triggering, we had a huge surge of bots in December and the rules were pretty strict at the time to help mitigate it but I have tweaked them just now.

Will it take a while to filter through, as it isn't entirely fixed yet? LeMarchand's post on 3rd is still doing it, and so is yours on 30th Sept. For me anyway.....
