Quick Q - does anyone have experience with cheap compatible SFP+ transceivers?

Going to be getting some fibre run this summer and getting some of our edge switches connected up to the core with 10Gb links. Will need HPE J9150D modules but would prefer not spending £200~ per module if I can avoid it.

Startech ones are like £100 per. This website seems to have them for £20~ https://www.fs.com/uk/products/92098.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI-qGfzcS88QIVRJnVCh1GJgr-EAQYASABEgKeG_D_BwE

Anyone used them or similar before?

I usually get shouted out of the room when I say this but approach compatibles with caution, especially with Aruba kit. I've had cases where compatible transceivers stop working after a firmware update on a switch.

FS.com £19 can't go wrong, got loads around our campus with zero issues. (5400's and 2530's)

Sylvia from FS is really friendly too

Albeit, in our new SAN switch, I went genuine HPE 10G and in total they cost more than the SAN switches!

I used alternatives for all of our Aruba switches, during the refresh last summer - that saved a ridiculous amount of money, and there have been no issues. Not 100% sure on the brand though, think they are also FS... all 10Gb.

I've used FS.com and 10Gtek SFP and SFP+ in HP Procurve and the newer Aruba-branded models (5406R, 2530, 2540 and 2930F) without issue.

The 5406R were picky when we tried older (Finisar) SFPs from the switch it replaced, but happily accepted 10Gtek and FS.com modules.
