Has Teams just died, we are getting a HTTP ERROR 401 when attempting to load the web page.

Looks to be that way. We're seeing the same message here.

Same here... both App and Web Portal offline.

Same issue here. The web just gets can't get 401 error. If you were signed in with the App previously, then it seemed to work. But other users can't connect, just get a whitebox. I've made a report to Microsoft in the Service Health part of Microsoft, would suggest others do too so it gets their attention. Our phone won't stop ringing right now.

We had to cancel a live event earlier.

Working here now, had to close and reopen Teams, but it works.
