I got this last week and it seems to be playing great on my creaky 4770k with an 8GB RX580 and I'm still in the 'Ooooh!' stage of watching all the very nice graphics however, I have noticed online that, graphical glitches apart, there seems to be quite a few people pointing out that the emporer has no clothes.

Whether this is quite dumb AI to NPC behaving like NPC's in most other games when it comes to reactions and speech.

As I said, I'm still in the early stages of the game (some of the 'vr' tutoprials need work to as they don't take you through all the steps of what is required to do certain tasks. Once didn't tell me that I had to crouch to move stealthily until later on in the tutorialwhen I had already figured out that one myself.

Are any of you finding any of these yet and has it spoilt the game any for you? Personally, I'm enjoying it, but it does need a lot of work doing to it still I think.

I'm about 45 hours in on the PS5 - I've encountered a few glitches, mostly with KO'd enemies getting up so they can fall down in a more comfortable pose, and the police randomly deciding I was doing crimes once, but nothing game-breaking really. Set up HDR correctly for my TV / lighting and it looks breathtaking.

I'm enjoying the gameplay and the feel of the source material is there in spades. There is also just. so. much. to. do... I've finished the first act and am going round tidying up all the sidequests etc. - of the six regions (plus the two 'badlands' areas), I've only so far cleared out three - knowing that more side stuff will pop up as the story progresses. The netrunning is easy and well integrated - with cameras being available to be hijacked for scouting etc. Plus, there appears to be multiple ways to do each 'thing' so you're free to do things however you feel.

You're just bragging you've got a PS5 :p

I've not got a fancy rig, so no uber settings and apart from consoles, it appears, after a chat I had with @ZeroHour last week, that the glitches mainly affect the PC version are on a lot higher end hardware.

On the other hand....

I got about 7 hours in, was far too buggy on PC and glitches like people walking through cars etc put me off! Graphically it ran well (3600X RTX 3070) but it was the glitchy buggy nature that took away some off the fun. That said i did get an update for it yesterday on steam which i am yet to try!

Playing it on the PS5 and I'm really enjoying the experience. Only a few bugs so far, the last two updates have seemed to make it a lot more stable.

Maybe not a good idea releasing it on last gen. I'm expecting the next few patches will fix the main issues. I think it's a game that should have been delayed for at least another six months.

True - but with the toxic nature of certain elements of the gaming community, there was no right answer for CDPR. Either delay it and get more grief and threats (seriously - why?) or release it and get the grief for the bugs.

Personally, I'd have been happy for it to be held back, but now it's out - I want to at least go through the majority of it before it's overly spoilered for me.

I see this game being much like Deus Ex for me, back in the day. Wait several years before getting it, get the GOTY or complete edition, and play it with a PC I can actually afford!

I play it on Google stadia. Not had a single issue here..... very pleased i went with that platform. FPS is great even at 4k.

I still have every console i've owned since a kid (starting with nes upto ps4 xbox/one.) Ran out of space to store them..... so now pay £8.99 per month for stadia (paid £49.99 for cyberpunk with a stadia controller and chromecast ultra). I also get about 3-6 games per month to play for free.

only put 5 hours ish in on CP2077 at the mo though!

edit: you dont have to pay £8.99 per month..... that gives you free games every month and you can play in 4k and surround sound.

If you already have a google account, you have access to stdia..... just no games yet (you can play a demo)..... if you bought cp2077 on stadia without the £8.99 per "premium" tier, you can "only" play in 1080p with no surround sound.

Performance wise, happy here - non RTX PC user, it's clearly way ahead of all the "last gen" consoles. Definitely still a lot of glitching but improving with every patch so far - certainly no game-breakers like I had on day 1/2.

Completed a first run through and only came across one problematic glitch (my gun went invisible and stopped firing).

Now doing another run through as I decided I didn't like the character I ended up with at the end, with the decisions taken. The story all made sense, I just decided I didn't like the consequences of my character's actions, so I'm starting over with a different run and a whole different set of ideals to stick to. Will probably do at least at hird run after that following yet another path to see what happens.

I wouldn't say it's game of the year (*cough* Hades *cough*), but I'm enjoying it and have got my money's worth. Then again I'm on a PC and have apparently been lucky glitch-wise.

So, I've played about 20 hours of this, split across Xbox One X and PC.

Both are roughly the same in terms of bugs/crashes. The main difference between the 2 is quality of the graphics, and density of NPCs. PC has way more people wandering around. Yet, even with more people, the city still doesn't seem very alive. Its supposed to be a megacity but you only see clusters of people in any density in a handful of spots. The "news" being played when you launch, or when you're in game is repetitive and gets old quick too.

However, my biggest complaints for the game are not about bugs or crashes - after all, I've played hundreds of hours in Bethesda games, and even years on they still crash to desktop at times. No, my biggest complaints are around the lack of attention to detail in the engine.

Police pop in at random if you get a warrant, and take barely any time at all to leave behind, because they don't chase in cars.

Water physics are hilariously poor. No splashes when you shoot water. A grenade going off in water is just like one going off on land. No water splashing.

The car AI. Good lord this sucks. Driving along one of the highways? You'll suddenly come across 20 cars all stopped for no reason. No blockage. No red lights. Just stopped. And because the sides of the highway are often split by a concrete boundary, you're stuck behind them as there's not enough space to get past. So, you have to smash your way through.

The car AI also spends half its time wobbling across lanes. Nothing is smooth about it. A lane change by an AI car? Wobble wobble wobble, and change.

If you punch an NPC (non-gang/PD), they will always run away. GTA V, a 5 year old game, would have them fight back sometimes at least.

There's loads more like that. The physics engine is just pretty primitive. Especially for a £50 game.

Then there's the RPG stuff - in short, there isn't really a lot of it. You very rarely get an option to actually choose a different path forward, it sometimes seems like there is, but having played through some of the game twice on the different platforms, taking different speech options? The end result is nearly always identical, and has no long term consequences either way. Sure, some stuff differs, but not enough for me to think of it as an RPG. More of a linear storyline with a handful of branches.

Crafting is pretty much pointless - enemies drop so many items, and there's so much stuff lying around everywhere, you can just find better guns constantly. There's no advantage to keeping on upgrading a gun you like when the next mission you get will throw 20 new ones at you.

And the skill tree all seems to be fiddling around the edges. 3% better this, 2% better that. Never seems to have that much of an effect on gameplay - especially when you get new guns with much higher DPS all the time.

So, all in all. I am enjoying the game, but it was massively overhyped and underachieves. CDPR have not made a game anywhere near as good as they made out it would be. It is more primitive even than Fallout 4 tbh. Its effectively an FPS with a bit of Watchdogs thrown in.

Is it worth the release day price? Simply put? No.

I don't think I've ever seen a game where reviews have been so marmite in a long time. Some imply it's basically a buggy early access game with inferior AI, physics and a linear structure that doesn't even match decade old games like GTA and Skyrim.

Whereas others seem overwhelmingly positive?

There's a copy (PS5) sitting under my Xmas tree but I'm starting to wonder whether I should just return it and get something else given all the negative press?

Don't get me wrong. The storyline is great, if disjointed occasionally. The actual game loop - sneak or shoot etc...? Works well. Its possible to sneak your way through missions, frying people's synapses etc... Its just not the RPG I was expecting it to be. I was expecting something closer to Fallout New Vegas than GTA with a bit of Fallout 4. But, all those games are great.

So, its worth playing. There's LOTS of content to play. I have to agree that it isn't really ready though. Another 6 months of polish to fix the below par physics and AI would have been well worth it from CDPR.

But you won't see my refunding it. Then again. I didn't refund No Man's Sky either... And look how that game turned out?

Just got round to installing it on my series x, lots of goodies in the box, stickers etc. It's Currently installing a 40GB Update hopefully this fixes some bugs!

It won't - still buggy as hell.

Anyhoo - completed first brief playthrough and now in the midst of a more exploratory, "do all the side quests" playthrough. Don't ignore these.

Things like the races are an enjoyable past-time however the rubber-banding isn't unlike the old 80s Pole Position type games and does spoil it somewhat.

Spending more time free-roaming rather than fast travelling everywhere and finding quite a lot more as a result, plus this is a must-do for anyone finding the cyberpsychos.

The Delamain side missions are a MUST, particularly for fans of Portal.

I'm enjoying it a lot more now, mostly because I've taken time to understand the hacking side of things and aiming for particular perks and attributes as I go. I don't really think it's getting very RPG like - more Outer Worlds than Fallout 3/NV as an example but the crafting & attribute/perk system appears to be more geared towards achievement hunting rather than story/arc progression.

For those with "lesser" machines, the one-click EZOptimiser does a great job of speeding things up without dropping fidelity considerably. I'm getting a fairly constant 60fps now and the only noticeable issues with quality are also there with the dials turned right up.

So I have been religously playing Cyberpunk since its release and I can honestly say I love the game, it has had more than its fair share of annoyances but the story is great and the gameplay feels good, plus with all the fixes and improvements in patch 1.5 it feels alot tighter and alot more approachable.

If anyone is thinking if it is worth a punt I would say absolutely, just be prepared to be barely able to run it on older hardware, especially on PC. It does seem to be a monsorous game, especially graphically.

I really enjoyed my first playthrough, right after launch. The recent patch has tempted me to play again, but I'm going to wait until there's DLC or new content.

I've played through 5 times now with over 400+ hours

on google stadia

epic game. Stadia didn't have too many issues. Just a ladder glitch. where you could only climb one 90% of the time (you'd just fall off it when at the top)

I installed it on my series X on the week of release way back when and, aside from having to restart the prologue once due to an error not being able to finish one of the missions, the rest of the game played through without any issues.

Recently went back to it following the 'next gen' patch and, being honest, I could barely notice the difference. Yes there were a few more NPCs around, but as they're just generic 'sidewalk filler', it made no difference to me if anything it was more irritating to have more people to try and run through! Otherwise, not much really to write home about. It still feels like an empty city that has a handful of things to do spread out really far apart. The whole 'interactive city' bit is just missing entirely for me.

The game is a very solid game. I just think unfortunately it was over-hyped to oblivion, to the point where they're realistically never going to be able to match what they've promised.
