It's (amlost) here and as many shops and as many online stores have now started their offers it's time again once more to roll out our Black Friday thread.

As usual, you can ask other members to keep an eye out for offers or specific products for you, or just simply post up anything you see that you think others may be interested in.

Please also post links and not just 'Ooh, site x has this for cheap'. It saves a lot of time!

And don’t forget to check Camel Camel Camel first just in case the ‘bargain’ you've found isn’t quite what it seems - https://uk.camelcamelcamel.com/. The browser plugin is also very handy!

Also, please do not post links from third party sites i.e. you saw the link on someone elses site and copied that. Try and post a link to the item on the site it is being sold on directly where possible, and I shan't post links to various sites BF pages this year as many seem to have turned over their entire site to them!

 

 

*Oh, and if anyone has any recommendations for what to get a 16 year old girl it would be much apprecited. She's gone into 'dunno' territory for pressie ideas!

It is the lowest ever price but not quite the £429 saving implied by the Amazon post. More like £48 compared to last weeks price.

Amazon have the OnePlus 8 for £399 - now beginning to have buyers regret for the OnePlus 8t I bought from John Lewis last night for £449.

 

I'd set myself a limit of £419 (the price of an iPhone SE) to find something with a Snapdragon 865 to justify staying with Android.

Just bought a few Dell Vostro 3501 direct from them for £356 each (+VAT). They seem like a decent small business class machine, and there's a discount code at checkout that puts them into the price bracket we paid for consumer laptops back in 2012.

My 16yo will be 17 in Feb so will be getting a voucher for driving lessons. The 14yo wants an iPhone 11. They are getting a Switch as a joint surprise present. That's Christmas sorted in our house

Worth trying to change the order and price match - JL customer service is mostly extremely good. If they do that, you get to keep their enhanced warranty if it was offered. I believe distant selling regs might let you cancel anyway, but I believe some distant selling rules changed a while ago. JL is one of the few companies I don't mind paying a little extra than the lowest possible price - partly as I want them to stay in business and not wanting to end up with a market of only box shifters with poor customer service.

I've heard several reviewers on YouTube say that there may be good Switch offers on BF/CM, so don't rush out and get one just yet (unless the offers have started that is!).

I ticked the "this is a gift" box. Anything bought between now and Christmas as a gift can be returned until 28th January if it's unwanted or unsuitable. That's why I went for it - seemed like a good deal and I didn't want to wait until they'd sold out.

 

It's arrived - I just need to resist opening it until the rest of the deals play out over this week.

 

Lots of places have generous returns policies at the minute - definitely worth considering if you're worried that a deal you want might sell out.

There's a chunk of good mice on sale on Amazon for ~50-60% off, which is handy as mine at home has started with the phantom double clicks. Got myself a Razer Basilisk v2 coming for £38, down from £80, which'll do me nicely; there's a bunch of offers summarised on RPS here.

 

(Bonus: it came with a code to get three months of Xbox Game Pass for half price, if that's relevant to your interests too. I'm tempted so I can play Forza Horizon 4, always liked the look of it...)

Cheap for storage but it's not NVME

 

Dang. If the 2.5" equivalent was the same price, I probably would have got that. My laptop has got both NVMe and SATA storage and I could do with something a bit faster and bigger on the SATA port.
