That's my Christmas break sorted, then, and just in time for the shiny new nVidia card to arrive too 1

I think it's the one and only time I've been caught out like that. So, I'll have a another go and be super organised. I presume it's equally valid in a Xbox 360? Maybe it's an excuse to upgrade. I'd only jump to Xbox One, not X. What bindle would be recommend, assuming new are still available?

I think this replaced XBox Gold entirely, though I don't know if the games downloading aspect of it works. Xbox All Access may be worth a look for you--monthly subscription of £21 gets you the game pass and an XBox Series S (i.e. the less-powerful of the new ones), which works out cheaper in the long run than buying the console and subscribing on top. Everything from XBox One should be backwards compatible too so it'd be a good way to catch up on last-gen whilst also being ready for games to go cheap this gen
Danp Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 Bought a Switch yesterday from Smyths, couldn't get one of the 'deals' that were kicking about last week, but still got one for normal retail price and not the overinflated eBay prices. Now I'm looking for a suggestion on a project type present for my 14 yo daughter. She likes building things, but, space is at a bit of a premium, so she can't really have a big Lego or Meccano set as she won't really have anywhere to display it once done. I bought her one of these before, but wooden one. I've still got a Raspberry Pi that we tinker with so that's not really an option. Any suggestions?

Ditto Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 My kids have had Labo stuff. It is good, but it is all cardboard and very pricey given that material. Robustness is the key issue. If it was made of a more robust material at the same price, I'd be much more enthusiastic. If your kids aren't too rough, it does bring an extra dimension of play.

I still have in the loft some old school disco lights I made from a Velleman kit in the '90s. Velleman still produce kits - some of them are quite advanced now. Main UK Dealer for the full range of Velleman Products including Electronic Kits and Modules 1

Couldn't believe how many we got in. Couldn't believe how quickly they sold out. Couldn't believe how angry people got if they were out of stock! 1
