mikeprice Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 (edited) Anyway - getting back to the subject and ignoring any sheds that I wish I hadn't mentioned and belateedly adding random stuff to keep it from people using iSpy is that enough dunno - anyway If we bravely assume that she (the black Doctor) is who she says but neither remembers being the other - but it appears that the Black Doctor is from the past (on the Doctor's timeline) then the Doctor numbering system goes a bit west but all through this we need to remember Rule Number One - the Doctor lies but maybe not in this case - so how many Doctors have we not seen? The War Doctor, this new one possibly others and certainly some before the first series (unless I've missed something??) I'm sure all will be revealed and Jack's Back - so that should liven things up - and make things weirder wonder which Doctor he will leave with?? or are we being led down a long winding garden path???? Text Completed.* If she is from the past, we have had regenerations on TV for all Doctors except for a before and after of War Doctor to Nine. Of course we have never officially seen a young Doctor and I seem to recall Missy saying that she knew the Doctor when 'she was a little girl'... I think that was back in The Witches Familiar, though I will have to rewatch. This would also open up the question on if the Doctor had been given more regenerations than the limit of 12 originally, or if the regenration energy from Ten's first regeneration energy actually did count or not (though I would have thought so).

Now, fans may be wondering how exactly the US-based Barrowman managed to sneak over to Cardiff to film in Doctor Who’s studios without anyone noticing. And the answer is simple – he lied about why he was over here, telling his followers on social media that he was in the country to oversee renovations on his property in Cardiff. “When I was over filming, this whole thing about renovating my flat in Cardiff was a total lie… at first,” Barrowman exclusively told RadioTimes.com. “I felt bad but I had to think of something to throw people off the path of what I was doing in Cardiff. Because I was being seen all over the place. LeMarchand Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 I didn't mind the message this week; it felt better integrated into the plot. What I was annoyed by was the stupidity of Aramu running towards the scary birds and the fact that no-one questioned what had happened to him. 1

Saving "whats-his-name" at the end was cool, but made me wonder why they never went back to save "thingy and her daughter" at the end of Orpha55.

I agree - the 'bloke on the beach' was just forgotten about - including by his crew mate (commander??) and by the Doctor - WHAT - the Doc never forgets people!!! anyway - overall I though it was much better than the first few - not as good as last week - but I liked it (OK a bit preachy but not too bad - and she wasn't overly manic and looked more intelligent) YMMV

E_G_R2 Posted February 10, 2020 Posted February 10, 2020 Overall I'm enjoying this Season but I'm afraid last night was one of those weak 'filler' episodes. Thought the bad guys were awesome but for something supposedly so powerful they sure got caught out by the same trick again.
mikeprice Posted February 10, 2020 Posted February 10, 2020 I sort of though the episode was OK choice of Aleppo just to point out that the Middle East was miles ahead of the West in term of medicine in those times was a bit clumsy and preachy - but it was OK Overall I liked it Until the end - seemed like it needed another 30 mins or so to develop a proper solution but they didn;t have it so they just crammed something into the last 5 or 10 minutes 2
FishCustard Posted February 10, 2020 Posted February 10, 2020 I felt that the enemies in yesterday's had such potential (immortals feasting on nightmares - think what Steven Moffat could've done with that!) but turned out to be very non-scary. And as you said, they were defeated in all of about 60 seconds.
