xp sp3 wsus

ok got it today on wsus xp sp3 should I wait or dive right in any problems any one else found.

I would never recommend diving in. What happens if it goes all wrong? Download the redistributable version and test on a few systems prior to deploying

have tried it on a couple but wsus is a totally different ball game worked fine with standard install just wondering weather anyone else having problems

I took an image of my laptop then installed it (at the 3rd attempt). I haven't had too much time to play yet, but so far I haven't noticed too much difference, if any. It seems a little quicker, but that could be because I haven't been as pressured today.

Have installed it on a build pc with no problems, though someone was saying that Sysprep had changed??

sent it out over wsus to our testing group of machines yesterday. Seems to have gone fine.

I nearly sent it out via WSUS today and then decided to wait until the summer when we will be rebuilding our PCs and having a load of new ones. I've put it on my work PC and (touch wood) all seems okay

I installed it on my workstation today, and it definitely seems to have sped things up a bit. In particulalr office 2007 seems a lot more happy, but I'm not sure if this is just my imagination

@ maniac : there are quite a few sites out there claiming a 10% increase on the same hardware including Office 2007.

 

I'll just settle for not any slower.

Indeed but I would guess thats vs SP2 without any updates.

Had a problem with Outlook 2007 after installing SP3

Wouldnt open emails (fully or in reading pane)

Sorted it (hopefully) by disablingh cached exchange mode

I have rolled it out to one machine in each IT suite to see what happens. Installation was smooth, if not a little slow! Will give it a week and then maybe roll it out to one room for further testing

yes i'm sure it is MS have produced a good few performance updates since SP2.

Installed this morning on my PC here, and seems fine.

not noticed any difference with anything so far, but at least all is still working and it's not slowed down!
