Any of you phone gurus care to advise on another issue? Same phone, battery life has been very poor over the last few days and I've noticed three processes using 21% CPU all the time. "Search applications provider, User dictionary and Contacts storage". I've stopped them and also rebooted the phone but they just come back and hog the CPU again. I've seen a few posts online with suggestions for similar issues but non are exactly relevant or didn't work. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I'd gently let them know that at some point they might have to put their hand in their pocket. The problem with buying things is they sometimes need maintenance. In 10 years I only needed to log one support call its hardly a regular occurrence.

I backed up the recovery partition to USB before upgrading to 10. So I guess I'll just restore that and then upgrade if I need to do a clean restore. I'm hoping not to have to do it for a while anyway.

Right so I'd have to run the factory restore of 8.1 from the recovery partition and then run a Windows 10 upgrade?

Did I read somewhere that now I've ran an upgrade I can now get the ISO/USB from somewhere in future to run a clean install? If so do I need a new software key?

Well first impressions are that its an instant improvement over 8.1

How long did the upgrades take roughly?

OK so next question, I've had the upgrade notification on my HP Envy notebook. I've backed up my data, should I go for it? I have a couple of user accounts on there that use Windows live sign in and have Onedrive etc configured, will this still all work or is it all massively changed again? Cheers.

So is the general consensus that Windows 10 is lighter than 7 or 8.1? My parents have a 2011 laptop that's ready for a reinstall. Dual core with 4Gb RAM. Should I stick 7 back on or jump to 10?

I'm thinking about getting a Roku 2 2015, just wondering if anyone has one? I need something nice and simple so a Raspberry with XBMC etc isn't an option.

I thought I'd update this. I put CM12.1 on a couple of months ago now and its awesome, also flashed TWRP for backups. The OS is very smooth and seems to get very good battery life. The only issue I've encountered is that I feel the external speaker isn't as loud as when it was stock but I'm unable to test this now.

Looked this morning and port 80 is suddenly listening, it wasn't before so I think support must have done something.

I "think" that sorted it. Took battery out plugged in and then put the battery back in and it seems to be charging for the moment.

Yep fully upto date and working fine last night. The battery is actually a replacement one as the original crapped out but it's been working fine for months. I'd fogotten about the Moto G it does look good, I'll pop that on the back burner for now

Cheers I'll have a play later. AFAIK the battery looks fine and the pins all appear in place. When I plug in noting happens at all.

Hi all. Yesterday my Note 2 stopped charging, it has been working fine and generally is in good condition. I've tried a different charger and I've turned it off removed the battery and tried again. Is there anything else I can try? This would be typical as I have just signed a new 12 month SIM only contract as I was happy with the phone Thanks all ETA Just in case it is broken, what's the best £200 Android at the moment? I wondered about the Galaxy Alpha.
