  1. From unlimited tethering down to 2Gb, that's quite a drop. Is it just me or is it a massive disappointment that 4G speeds are going to be limited by stingy limits. Three scraps UK's last unlimited tethering package | Broadband | News | PC Pro
  2. Vodafone keep telling me the same thing but I work outdoors alot where there's no wifi and 1Gb simply isn't enough.
  3. Yeh I suppose thats the limited range of their 1800mhz band. 4g should sort that hopefully.
  4. Well my PAYG sim arrived today and I've popped it into an old phone so I can give them a whirl :-)
  5. I would use that however the wife wants something that's absolutely foolproof and she can just roll over and look at any time without picking up a phone etc. Thanks.
  6. That's a very kind offer, I'm not sure as my laptop doesn't appear to support 5Ghz that it would help. It might be worth a try though, I could paypal you the postage.
  7. Thinking about it I'm not sure that my laptop will support 5Ghz so I might go back to plan A and get an alternative baby monitor.
  8. I'm not sure I'm bothered enough about the video to bother with the faff thanks.
  9. Hi all thanks for the replies. I'll answer a few questions. 1. We dont necessary need a video one but it was on offer and the wife likes it. 2. I've moved the router chanel and it didn't make much difference. 3. I might give Sky a ring and see if I can convince them to send me a 5Ghz router, good idea :-)
  10. Well the title says it all, my WIFI has been awful for a week now and it dawned on me today that it could my video baby monitor. Turned it off and bingo full tilt wifi again DOH! Silly me I just assumed that manufacturers would realise that pretty much all households have wifi these days and wouldn't put them in the same band. Anyone got a wifi compatible video baby monitor they can recommend or a solution to this issue? Cheers. Edit hmmm it seems my rubbish single band 2.4ghz Sky router isn't helping. I wonder if a router that supports 5Ghz would solve the issue.
  11. Sorted. It seems that this device doesn't recognise channel 12 or 13, changed my router to channel 1 and it sprang to life
  12. Well Vodafone keep telling me that 1Gb internet is enough but I disagree. I see that 3 offer all you can eat data but I'm wondering what they're like, coverage etc. I've been with Vodafone for ages and coverage is pretty good even if their data plans aren't. I don't want to have unlimited data that I can't use ;-) Who can recommend 3? Thanks
  13. Hi all, I'm on the verge of tears so I'm hoping someone can help I have a Netgear wn1000rp wifi extender and a Sky SR101 broadband router. I cannot get the wifi extender to connect to my Sky router. I've looked in the setup guide and followed Option 1, WPS setup and Option 2, manual setup but neither work. When I use the Netgear utility to find my sky SSID it just will not pick it up, it picks up other wifi networks around me but not my router. I have the SSID enabled and not hidden, my latop (inc the laptop i'm running the discovery util on), my phone and tablet can all find and connect. I'm starting to think I'm missing something abvious. Anyone got one of these that can help? Cheers.
  14. Good news peeps (well good in the circumstances), I went into Argos today and told them my tale of wo and they agreed to take the player back. In it's place I bought a BD-F5500/XU and it does Netflix and a few other things inc social media nonsense. It did cost me more than I could have got it online but I couldn't face waiting for Yodel, DPD or some other useless parcel firm letting me down again after already waiting 3 days for a parcel that didn't arrive. Anyway It's up and running with a happy Cookie Monster watching Archer via Netflix.
  15. Typical. Why do they have to make things so damn hard. Looks like I'll be trying to swap it tomorrow for a Samsung 5500 3D which is £79 but apparently does support Netflix.
  16. Ah that could be the problem
  17. How would I route the player through a proxy?
  18. It's already got the 1010.1 firmware you posted. I need to try to get the US firmware on I think.
  19. Set time zone to time zone listed as GMT-8 LA, San Fran but no joy. Does your mum def have the BD-F5100/XU version?
  20. Just did but it doesn't ask for a zone. I'm thinking that the hardware is exactly the same with different firmware, I just need to work out how to flash it
  21. Where did you set that the only zone setting I can see is time zone. Am I being a moron?
  22. How did you get the extra apps?
  23. Yeh I tried that but it wouldn't work, it of course wouldn't work at I already had the latest version for the U.K product.
  24. Apparently I'd been looking on the US site which is the BD-F5100/ZA Support - Bluray Players BD-F5100 | Samsung Blu-ray & DVD Players The BD-F5100/XU is this model (the UK model) that I have apparently and it doesn't support Netflix.
  25. So it's not just me then
