  1. Hi all, I'm off to Berlin soon for a few days, obviously i'll be interested in seeing some historic sights the Brandenburg gate etc but i'm wondering if there are any hidden gems that I should seek out. Anyone been or know the city well? Cheers.
  2. I have a friends Toshiba Equium L20-198 that needs to be restored (virus etc) but they can't find the restore CD's. I can't seem to find them on the Toshiba web site, can they not be downloaded? If not has anyone got an idea where I could pick up some restore CD's for this model? Cheers.
  3. I'm having a play with the Firefox 4 RC and I've noticed that when you close a browser with multiple tabs it doesn't save them like it did in 3. This is really quite annoying can anyone tell me if this can be turned on or have they removed this feature? It will be a backwards step if they have. Cheers.
  4. I have a secure PDF that I'd like to edit is there any software that will allow me to do this for free? Thanks.
  5. Thanks for the offer Dos_Box but as it won't be just my laptop I'll be sharing it i'd like to get a 12 mth GT with it.
  6. Is that a laptop that you're selling for £300 DB??? I think a 250Gb HD might be a bit small that's the only downside, well that and no 12 mth GT. Cheers.
  7. Hi all. I'm looking for a new laptop just for office and internet etc so nothing special. The only real requirements are 500Gb HD, HDMI out, and a card that will do 1920 x 1080so I can connect it to my Samsung SyncMaster B2230H 22" widescreen monitor. My current laptop is a Samsung NC10 and that fills most needs fine so I don't need anything really powerful just a slightly bigger screen. I came accross the laptop below at £369 can anyone suggest a better deal for the same or less money? I'm open to refurbs but would like a 12 mth warrenty. HP G62-b28SA - 4GB memory & 500GB hard drive - Blue at cheap prices | PC World Cheers.
  8. Yeh the Atrix looks pretty cool, I wonder how the battery will last with a dual core processor?
  9. The phone will be receiving Android 2.2 soon apparently and the review indicates that the 800Mhz processor seemed to perform fine. The reviewer actually bought the phone and I thing the battery life was one of the reasons. Battery is one of my main concerns as I often work 12 hour shifts and don't always get to somewhere with a power socket.
  10. Am I right that within reason any Android phone should run any Android app regardless with what the make of phone is? I'm looking at one of the Motorola Defy Android phones (still haven't made my mind up ) as the battery life is so much better than a HTC. What you all think? Motorola Defy Android smartphone ? reghardware
  11. I have a friend that's just moved in to a new place and the phone isn't connected, but there is a physical line in place. They rang BT and they said they can't connect it until March. I can't see any way around this as there's no cable companies in their area, can anyone suggest a way to speed things up or are they at the mercy of BT's awful service? Cheers.
  12. They don't seem to be going that cheep on ebay and with this one i'd get a G\T
  13. Well I still haven't decided but as I'll only be web browsing and producing word docs I'm tempted by one of these. Just need to find out if it will take 2Gb RAM. HP Mini 110-3104 Netbook (Intel Atom
  14. Hmm looking at that threw up this unit that comes with Win 7 64 bit, it does break the budget a bit though but doesn't that always happen when you start looking Acer Aspire Revo R3610 Desktop PC (Intel Atom 330, 1.6 GHz, 2048MB RAM, 250GB HD, LAN WLAN, Windows 7 Home Premium, Integrated Graphics Plus Wireless Keyboard and Mouse: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories Just saw your last post bossman, that's looking like a good deal.
  15. I'm aiming for <£200 @ bossman: the old PC is very old, it would need the full works. It's got a 1GHz Duron CPU and a 20Gb HD to give you an idea.
  16. HI all, this isn't really a market that I've been involved in much but due to current money constraints I need to take a peep. My old desktop has died and I need to replace it with a budget tower basically just for web, docs etc nothing special. I already have a monitor and all the rest so I only need a tower. A quick google search brings up all manner of companies but I'm not 'sure' about any of them. Can anyone recommend a good company that will sell second hand desktops or should I just stop being lazy and build a replacement? Ideas? Cheers.
  17. Anyone got the Z model with the QWERTY keyboard built in? Just wondering if that might be worth the extra weight when typing emails etc.
  18. Any drawbacks to just buying your own rather than being locked into a long contract? HTC Desire Sim Free Mobile Phone - Mocha: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics
  19. I was wondering about Win Mo 7 as I use a hotmail and a windows live calendar that my family can see for my shifts etc I wondered if those features might be better supported than on Android. The only prob is it's a bit new and will a device I get now receive the new Win Phone 7 update due in the spring? Decisions, decisions!!!
  20. Hi all, it's new mobile phone time I've just got a basic mobile at the moment but I'm thinking about getting a more advanced model. I'm not interested in an i-phone but I do like the look of the HTC range, I'm looking in the £30 per month area. Anyone got a HTC that can tell me a bit about the bad and good from experience, or recommend another better phone. Cheers all.
  21. That's the one, I think it's play time
  22. Hi all, I seem to remember reading about an app that could be used to sync folders between PC's so you wouldn't have to carry data around on a USB stick. It was called something like 'Letterbox'. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Cheers.
  23. I had the same problem, suddenly realised that I was much larger than I thought I was and needed to loose weight. It's easy to want a quick fix but you really need to make a lifestyle change and tbh you're almost there, realization is a massive step (I hate that statement but it’s true). In the end I didn't have to change much I just stopped drinking in the week (save that joy for the weekend) cut out the takeaways and avoided snacking or just eat fruit or fig rolls between meals. I then started going to spinning classes at the gym I was a bit sceptical at first but a mate recommended it it really is one of the best ways to get lots of exercise in fast and as it's instructor lead I don't get chance to slack which is exactly what I need. At 30 mins a session it doesn't consume allot of time either. 5 aside footy is also great if you get stuck in. The most important thing to remember is that there really isn't a 'good' healthy quick fix and any 'quick' fixes won't last last without lifestyle change. That worked for me and that's all I can offer.
  24. oooooh I'll take a look cheers EDIT That's ace cheers I can set it up with the lame plugin and send it out ready to go.
  25. I'm looking for some free software so a laptop can be used as a dictaphone that's as easy as Windows Sound Recorder (or as near as) but that will record straight to MP3. I've tried Audacity which does work but needs plug ins and is a little complicated. I need to be able to explain to someone else how to use it when I'm not there. Can anyone save me ages downloading and testing bits of software? Cheers.
