Okai, following on from the revelation of a member owning 6 pairs of smart shoes suitable for work, I thought to be random and general, how many pairs of shoes / footware do you own?

I personally have:

  • 1 Pair of Smart Shoes that I wear for work, they do with a suit or smart jeans as required.
  • 1 Pair of Trainers, can be worn with Jeans both smart and messing around as well as "builders" trousers, scruffy jobs etc.
  • 1 Pair of Timerbland Boots, also act as my safety boots and go well with smart Jeans
  • 1 Pair of Wellies for things like washing the car, powerwashing the paths, gardening etc

So thats a total of 4 items of footware. How do the rest of us compare

My drive is like a mud bath in the middle of a drought so with the half day it takes to pre-wash, wash, clay, wash, rinse, spot clean, clean each alloy off the car, wax polish then do the glass, plastics, alloy polish and re-fit you need them as the car ends up sitting in a mud bath, or would if i didnt move it around the drive whilst washing to avoid the large puddles that form.

Sounds like you do a good wash. Can you travel and how much do you charge?

1 pair of uber-smarts

3 pairs of smarts (2 black, 1 brown)

2 pairs of boots (1 black, 1 brown)

2 pairs of 'fashion' trainers ... not even stuff that you can say is old skool, just fashion stuff ...

1 pairs of proper trainers (that have actually seen the inside of gym!)

2 pairs of sandals (1 neoprene for on the beach, the other a decent pair of walking sandals)

Steel toe capped wellies for being on building sites

And I still have a pair of my issued boots too ... comfortable to wear occasionally at work if I have a number of outside duties and for some reason the kids know not to mess about when i am wearing them ... anyone would think they give the impression of someone with a bad attitude, ready to kneecap someone for dropping litter.

My last car that I owned 3 years only had that once, its normally a half day general wash, wash the alloys off the car and then wax with dedicated glass clean thats normally it and I'm highly ashamed to admit its a once / twice a year event as well :( But that may change with the GTI as its black so needs more love and care.

As for Tonys shoe collection, I really don't see how issue boots can be comfy they look very uncomfy but having never worn them its the case of looks can be deceiving I guess

@John

They truly do get molded to your feet ... as long as you look after them they are fine ...

Admittedly I don't go on 10 mile hikes in them anymore but they are just right for a day of wandering around. I even like them for BETT once I have new insoles in as they provide good ankle support too.

I have one pair of trail running shoes which I use most of the time as they are stupidly tough, one pair of dress shoes and one pair of hiking boots.

2 Pairs of 14 eye DM's.

Wear trousers over the top of them and they're my smart shoes, only tie up to the 6th eye and they're my running shoes, wear trousers slightly tucked in and they're my rock stomping boots.

It's either thoose or barefoot
