We have this setup for all teaching staff, primarily for coursework and marking issues. No problems data protection wise as far as I know and the staff very rarely cause problems...also takes some of the policing work away from us in terms of inappropriate content.

I've just quit my job in blackburn (only one train ride away) so there should be an opportunity coming up there soon...once they sort out advertising it. Moving onto pastures new. -
Sony VAIO VGN-S5XP running XP Hi-Grade RS400 running various linux distro's as required. Look after all staff and student laptops (approx 250) so never short if I require one for use or cannibialisation (dunno if that's a word).

Just registered so i'll see what turns up before informing teachers. Annoyingly the email address field only accepts upto 35 characters and my email is about 37... -
Definately first port of call would be to check the driver. What level of user are you registering the pods as?

Something I'm looking at with last years batch of returned year 11 issues. Our LEA isn't renewing the internet connection or cyberpatrol on them and the school can't afford it. Wondering whether I can swing a few staff issues to prevent me having to purchase new machines...cheaper to upgrade these.

Produced an electronic target system back in the days before replica BB guns were frowned upon...and my eyesight deteriorated to the point of not being able to hit a barn door.

We've just put Ruckus kit in after purposefully steering clear of wireless previously and both the coverage and speed of the kit is exceptional. Just a shame my boss had me crawling in the roof spaces to install the AP's.

Depends what graphics card you're running but I'd veer away from "horizontal stretch" and extend the desktop onto secondary monitor instead. This should resolve the problem though depends what software you're running. Worked fine for ATI Sapphire x1550

Last time I was in a council flat, circa 2001 it cost me £70 a week in one of the grimiest areas imaginable.
