We have HSM Securio B22 models. They're not bad for paper.

 

The manual says they can shred CDs. It fails to mention that the shredded CD will have a 40% chance of exploding inside the mechanism, requiring dismantling before being able to shred anything else.

I recommend people actually oil their shredders like the instructions say to

 

Do agree with this too, found our after killing 2 or 3.

 

Current one is a Fellows DS-700C and has had a hammering and still going well. Your supposed to oil it every time you empty but speaking to someone at Fellows they said you can cover a sheet of A4 in sunflower oil and feed that through and does just as good job albeit a bit messy. Mine accepts credit cards too so can shred the old ones up.
