Bett is still a VERY important show, but what has happened (in the past 5 years or so) is that there are no 'new' shiny things. Previously we had laptops, netbooks, tablets, projectors, 3d printers and a raft of other new physical technologies to ogle over. I've always thought the value of BETT was being able to meet up with suppliers across the whole range of various curriculum, front-of-house and infrastructure ranges more than "ooh that's new and shiny" to be honest. I'm looking into new network switching, for example, and while I'll keep an eye out, I'm not counting on finding anything ready to demo at the level I want at the show. 2

It's because in the full client they often pop-up in the "Similar Threads" window. This thread for example suggests these long since passed away to digital heaven threads from 2005/6!! I can find some places but i dont relish tramping across strange bits of London late at night in the dark on my own! It would be nice if there was someone else to walk with.
