I've designed and built this new website for a school I support ... Its not finished yet! I'm concentrating on getting all the statutory stuff on there before anything else ... but I would welcome any comments and critiques you may have :-)

Looking good. You need to tweak the collapse (or max/min size) of the title and top menu to stop them from going to two lines. I'd suggest slowing down the picture transitions, leaving a slightly larger gap under "Opening into the Future", removing the overlaid picture in the Our Ethos section and making the contact details box at the bottom full width. Tidy work.

The menu doesn’t work properly on iOS. Not sure whether it should yet but mentioning in case.

Not bad, the menu when showing on a android phone are transparent and a little difficult to read properly.... Like the layout etc though

I've looked at Joomla before and it's beyond me! I'm currently tinkering around with a CMS platform called Concrete5 (been having 'fun' installing that on Linux) as it's quick and easy for our team to edit on the fly - looking at doing our own mini site/intranet with it.

Get rid of all the CutWin links, even if it is just a staging demo - it's sitting on a school's legit domain. If you need a temporary link destination just point them all to "#". Pointing them to CutWin is just plain suspect and would immediately stop me from downloading any further themes developed by yourself if I were a general Joomla theme user, and would likely result in complaints from parents.

 

If you didn't put them there, then your site's been hacked already and you should really get it taken offline asap until the server's integrity has been verified.

Joomla is a dead/dying platform, I used to use it for an intranet back in 2005 but I wouldn't use anything besides WordPress these days

 

Checkout your site speed, it's marked as poor according to google so wouldn't rank well in it's listings, this link shows you what you will need to do in order to speed it up

Hmmm, not seen anything about Joomla dying. Still regularly updated. I always found it far more flexible and extensible than WP, and I've heavily used both. Wordpress is still a blogging tool to me - one that can be made to be a regular website. Joomla is that by default. Edited December 12, 2017 by 3s-gtech

Joomla road map here seems to still be fully supported with a version 4.0 out soon.

I love working with Joomla, I find it much more flexible than wordpress ... Also a search for Northgate Primary delivers the site as the first result so cant really ask for much more than that.
