Wubbalubbadub Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 Further to the network service issues which are impacting connectivity for some customers a hardware failure has been identified at our Data Centre. We currently have an engineer attending site to investigate further and to swap out equipment if required. This continues to be progressed with utmost urgency and our NOC engineers are working to restore service as soon as possible. A further update will be circulated at 2:30pm. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this is causing. Regards Customer Technical Services
SchoolsBroadband Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 Soon. We're replacing some hardware in one of our DC's in London. We keep spare stock specifically for these instances so it can be swopped relatively quickly. Dave
SchoolsBroadband Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 Our VOIP connection is still working, on the same line, which is interesting. I assume different paths? Yes, VoIP VLAN's do not go via the faulty aggregation router that has the current issues so your phones should remain unaffected if you've had this type of installation and are using VoIP. Dave
KevByrne Posted February 6, 2018 Author Posted February 6, 2018 Both our Leased Line and our backup ADSL line are down. Is this issue affecting both services or should the ADSL outage be logged as a separate call?
SchoolsBroadband Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 Both if your traffic passes through the affected aggregation router which it sounds as though for your school it does. Sorry about this we are fixing in conjunction with our data centres engineers asap. Dave
synaesthesia Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 Same. We are having to admit the backup line was £600 wasted. Not well set up but have already spoken to SB about that.
Edu-IT Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 Is there an ETA for the fix? Has the engineer arrived to site?
tj2419 Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 We're still offline but on the upside... New high score! 3778
Fazza Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 After losing our internet and SIP lines we've just come back up within the last 10 mins or so
KevByrne Posted February 6, 2018 Author Posted February 6, 2018 We're still down, has the equipment been swapped out now?
Fazza Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 Apparently it's even worse than what they first thought so good luck everyone!
tj2419 Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 Apparently it's even worse than what they first thought so good luck everyone! Where did you hear that from? Anymore details why?
nathan3388 Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 ZEN internet we have been with them for 7 years not one day of down time so far. 1
Edu-IT Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 ZEN internet we have been with them for 7 years not one day of down time so far. Helpful, thanks! 1
synaesthesia Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 Our Wave9 line is ready to go.... will be persuading powers that be to let us swap out early. Won't be a difficult persuasion
2ilent8cho Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 ZEN internet we have been with them for 7 years not one day of down time so far. Same been with Zen for years after getting annoyed with our LEA's broadband. Fortigate + Zen leased line has been flawless. They are not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for..... and we put reliability and support over price.
nathan3388 Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 Quote from school broadbands website "''High speed bandwidth all day, every day, 365 days a year!'' Schools Broadband, 2016" well that is a lie now
KevByrne Posted February 6, 2018 Author Posted February 6, 2018 Did anyone receive an update at 2:30 and if so are we expecting one at 3:30?
