LeMarchand Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 (edited) This pretty much describes Capaldi. Unfortunately the public didn't take to him. Edited January 15, 2018 by ZeroHour
LeMarchand Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 Nah, capaldi was too established and with future ambitions to meet this criteria. I think the beeb needs to find someone who wants to commit to at least 4-5 years to rescue it. This stepping stone mentality is just hurting the brand and the people following it. Here's another letter from a young Mr C: He's a long-time fan who stepped away from a regular gig on "Musketeers" to take his dream job, but it all went sour when the public apparently decided he was "too old" and the writing (particularly in his post-generation eps) let him down. Had the audience stayed with the show I'd warrant that he'd have had to be forced out, Bill Hartnell style. Would be bother with stuff like this if he was in it just for the kudos? I think you're confusing him with Ecclestone! P.S. Can anyone track down that Dead Ringers sketch about why CE left? Seems to have been expunged from YouTube .
LeMarchand Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 Was it the fact he followed Matt the reason he failed? .. or maybe hes too old, or maybe too established and could quit and move on no problem? .. or maybe he was just the wrong person for the role or needed better material? I don't know. All I know is I didn't take to him, hes quit far too early to know the answer. I have another hole in the story that I really don't enjoy watching, and it really shouldn't be this way. It wasnt Clara, I liked her with Matt ... it really sucked with capaldi. It was as if he needed a dog and a pipe. Some Doctors you like; others you don't. I stopped watching when Tom Baker took over (yeah, I know - sacrilege). 'Course back then we didn't have the internet to complain about it on. I suspect that Capaldi was "encouraged" to leave rather than took it upon himself to quit. Or if he did quit, it was more of a "fall on his sword" thing for the good of the show.
DalekSec Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 I've said it many a time, Capaldi is my fav of the new doctors, and series 10 was amazing start to finish, the trouble was his first series was meh. So people didn't stick around for 9 and 10

That was the cause of my regeneration, once hate has been removed from a Dalek it's existence is meaningless, thus causing a regeneration . 2
mikeprice Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 That was the cause of my regeneration, once hate has been removed from a Dalek it's existence is meaningless, thus causing a regeneration . BUT DALEKS DON'T REGENERATE!!!

DJ-1701 Posted August 6, 2017 Author Posted August 6, 2017 nah - she just used a ball point pen to press the little recessed reset button on it NOT regeneration because DALEKS DON'T REGENERATE!!! Actually... extrapolating the bio mass of a time traveller does regenerate them.
X-13 Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 This is all moot anyway... Didn't Rose remove Daleks from existance. There should be 0 Daleks, they don't exist.

Just the ones in that region of space time. Even then the Cult of Skaro were in a void ship between realities and due to their actions Davros escaped the jaws of the Nightmare Child.
mikeprice Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 and anyway - there is one on here or is it a cyberman?? I'm confused
