Purchasing Bulbs?

Morning Guys,

 

We are going through that time of the year where bulbs are on constant order because they're dying on us. Right now, we look towards the likes of ebay to purchase our replacement bulbs. Sometimes the prices skyrocket, depending on the projector. My question is, is there any sites/services available where you can pay a set price and get bulbs on some sort of speedy delivery? Do you spend hours browsing through ebay/amazon for a cheap deal like me? What are your go-to websites for reasonably price bulbs?

 

Any help and/or advice would be much appreciated.

Have tended to use https://www.suppliesforschools.co.uk/ - not necessarily the cheapest, but generally next day and good service.

JP-UK is our normal go-to for bulbs nowadays. But does depend on the age of the projector, newer ones are better other palces sometimes.

 

They also have the options for real, JP-Refurb, or Refurb etc

AV Partsmaster have proved decent for us in the past. Good prices and the option of either Genuine, Genuine Bulb + Compatible Housing or Compatible Bulb + Housing.

 

When it's been an end-of-life projector that only needs to be used for a few weeks/months more, ebay bulbs have been ok. You can get some seriously cheap bulbs from the far east by ticking 'Include item description' on ebay and searching for the bulb part number.

If the bulbs are sub £200 we replace them. However if they cost more than a new projector (especially some of the projectors we have that are 10+years old) we just replace the projector entirely as get the warranty with it.

Sorry to slightly move off topic but what a peoples experience with compatible lamps?

 

Reason I ask is that I have always gone with manufacturer lamps but at £200 a pop for Smart lamps or £100 for a compatible I went with a compatible for the first time last week and it blew within 2 hours, it's been replaced FOC now and the replacement has been fine for days but I'm inclined to think it may have been a bad decision on my part.

I get Diamond Lamps from a company called iDNS. From what I recall I think they have the same warranty as the originals. Never had any issues and always gone 2000+ hours and then usually replaced when get dim rather than blowing. Some have gone to 2800 hours

Sorry, I should have mentioned this in my OP. At the moment around 34 projectors are Sanyo XE40s. We pay around £50-£70 for compatible bulbs which are pretty hit and miss. We have actually had to purchase a replacement (upgraded) projector and adapter to fit the arm of the interactive whiteboard. £600 roughly in total for the projector and adapter. This is something we just cannot afford to do willy nilly.

 

Also to add those are around 50% of our projectors. The other are various other Sanyo's and mixtures of Hitachi's, Epson, NEC, Acer and Mitsubishi.... mostly Sanyo's though
