  1. 1. Do you want us to book you a seat at the table?

    • Yes, I'll do my best to be there
    • Sorry but no. I'm helping Santa's elves that day

I wont think work will let me go. I only have the week after booked off. I'm a 37hr+ 52 Week worker ;) none of this part time stuff like @Oaktech lol

Just say it's an "IT networking event" (pub lunch)... "comparing current technologies and problem management" (i.e. what broke and how you told the user to stop breaking it)... "among other things" (fun :D)... ;)

That was my thinking... "A workshop on school networking".

Failing that it has to be annual leave or TOIL.

Hi all.

I'll need to sort a table booking in the next couple of days. From the poll I can see 10 confirmed/provisional guests (including me). If anyone else is interested in coming and they haven't filled in the poll yet can you do so by close of play Tuesday.

Finally is everyone happy with the Greyfisher (Hungry Horse) if it's available?

Cheers

Andrew

Oh monkeys, I didn't see it was the last day of term.

I am sure I can blag it as a conference

Really?! They're all breaking up on the 16th round here. That's so late :(

Once again we see that EduGeek continue to offer valued CPD to all members.

The IT Professionals' Life Line has helped coordinate this unique opportunity for IT support staff to meet and talk through a range of scenarios in a round table event, under Chatham House rules.

Included in this session will be noted Online Safety evangelists, leading women in the sector, an award winning IT Service Management trainer and a range of experts who have transitioned from engineering and programming roles into Education support.

(If folk can suggest their own contribution into the sales blurb for this we could make this a running blurb that could be used for other events ... things like "over 70 years of providing IT support between them" and so on. What do folk think?)

I think it's a good job I'm not going to be there... It'd take too long to explain who, or what, I am and would probably ruin it. :p

We might have to increase that number somewhat... I'm at around 30 alone :D

When people say how long they have been in the business it reminds me of the 3Dead Trolls in a Baggie sketch about Internet Helpdesks ... where the veteran has been there for 6 months!

Firstly an apology, I've been a tadge busy recently and lost track of this for a couple of weeks...

Anyway, the good news is that I have just been up to the Greyfisher and confirmed the table for 12/14 people for 2ish (but can be earlier) on the 21st December. I didn't have to leave any deposit or my first born for the table as I've booked it under the school name. I need to confirm numbers with them by Monday 19th December.

So to confirm, free secure parking is available on-site here for the duration of the meeting and my office will be open for pre-lunch drinks, eduhobnobs etc. The Greyfisher is a 5 minute walk from our carpark.

If you can PM me confirmation of attendance no later than Friday 16th December then I'll send you the directions to get here either via car or train.

Looking forward to seeing you all

Andrew
