There are a few commercial companies still with a copy they're giving out to help out their customers - nothing from my point of view to stop them, license permitted it and I've not put anything to stop it working after a period of time, it should carry on working until Capita make a major change (so what Oct 2030 ?) 1

The only restriction was really crediting the source aka me. The problem with someone else putting it up publicly would be Capita chasing you for cash cause it uses the BO.

Suggest you read the full story on the link above, basically they won't transfer the grey area agreement I had with them - they point blank said they'll get charged (what that is etc I don't know). Not that surprised, Academy re-licensing anyone?

Perhaps I don't understand then. I thought schools could use the API reasonably freely so the licence to use the BO with your code was effectively with the school (and your licence to use the BO in development was presumably with your support unit). So I can see why with a change of job you no longer have access to the licensed facilities you need to develop the code. I don't see how that affects distribution of source code or object code you have previously compiled.

DavidinChina Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 I reinstalled SIMS using the Solus agent and it works! Brilliant and many thanks for developing this application. I haven't tried importing any data yet but it looks like a massive labour saver- we nearly had a strike when we asked our admissions team to do manual data entry! Thanks again.
