Scrapping PC Cases

we have around 30 pc cases old HP 8100 sff .. we removed all the hardware as we kept hard drives cd drives fans processers etc.. as spare so we only have the cases to getrid off,

 

how would you suggest we dispose of in the correct way has anyone had to do this before?

I scrapped 30 Fujitsu Siemens Scenics, weighed in at about quarter of a ton and netted the school £20, which isn't much, but it's very little effort and the scrappy is on my way home and it's no big deal to stick them in my big estate car.

A scrappy is fine, but remember your paper trail for WEEE purposes - as these are just metal and plastic it should be fine but note that down in any disposed stock audit, and note the serial numbers on the cases. Photos may help too.

It might be worth hanging on to a few empty cases.

 

HP use the same chassis from 8000 elite/6000 pro all the way through to the Z220/8300 Elite SFFs.

 

Very useful if you get a damaged case, you can just swap the innards out

Oh yeah - and the ODD/FDD port covers are like hen's teeth, and students seem to eat/conceal/covet them!

Would use the local scrap heap and will get some money back for the school. The scrap heap should give you a disposal note which you can then tie into your records to prove they have been disposed of correctly.
