Norphy Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 I need to go to a hospital appointment soon. The waiting room is in a cellar in an old building in Kings Cross. It's like an oven in there even in the middle of winter. I'm dreading what I'm going to find today.
StevieM Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 Well, no classes turned up this afternoon so I enjoyed the air-con all by myself. I've turned it off now, though, so I can gradually acclimatise myself to the hot air outside the IT suite before I go home in an hour.
unixman_again Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 Too hot. Got a strength and conditioning session in the gym tonight as well. That should be interesting.. I find I gym work much easier when it's hot. The one thing that I really hate about working out in the hot weather are those idiots who don't wipe the equipment down once they've finished with it. It was pretty warm in ballet class last night. There was a Zumba class in the studio before us and they are warmed the room up quite a lot.

I don't mind the power lifting moves i'll be doing, but the 25 minute bag work and sparring is going to be hellish. I bet Zumba was very much the same! At last it doesn't take too long to warm your muscles and joints in this weather.
FragglePete Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 Our office is air conditioned, so lovely and cool in here. Server room alarm has just tripped as its raised above 24 degrees so the Air Con must be struggling a bit. Keeping a close eye on it. Pete
Garacesh Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 Anyone too hot yet? Thankfully I have a great little desk fan. Only a little USB jobbie, about 5in diameter, but it's bloody powerful and pretty quiet, too.
PotNoodleTech Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 34 degrees in my office. I think I am permanently fused to my chair now.
rad Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 Didn't feel great this morning so called in to let them know I wasn't coming in. With no air con in our building (apart from server room) and with 30 new computers to shift, thought it was best to stay at home and chill/sleep on sofa and do this job later in week.

DalekSec Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 Been above 30C in my bedroom for the last 2 days, currently at 28C... Plan is simple stay up till extremely tired and then fall asleep!
angrycomputingteacher Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 Just went for a shower. A very cold shower
TomHD Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 The heats not really bothering me. I'm more bothered by having to watch my cheating wife's graduation today from a far like a peeping Tom [emoji22][emoji27] FeelsBadMan
elsiegee40 Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 We have a big fan that we bought in Woolworth's closing down sale for a tenner. We only ever seem to use it around twice a year, the rest of the time it's in the roof, but it makes the nights more bearable.
Sagima Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 So hot I couldn't sleep so I thought i'd start work at 6 and then go home and put my air conditioner on after lunch once my hours are done
6Foot2 Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 At least it's raining today! Not raining here. Also someone happy that it is raining? This weather has been with us less than a week. The Summer of '76 heatwave lasted for 9 weeks. Link: The summer of '76 - BBC Weather

The Summer of '76 heatwave lasted for 9 weeks. Link: The summer of '76 - BBC Weather No rain here. Full sun and 23C at the moment (08:30) I remember the summer of 76 all too well. It felt like it went on forever; I loved it. I was 12 and spent all my time outside When the rain eventually started that went on forever too
just_david Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 I've got a hammock in the garden. was damn tempted to sleep in it last night. the worst thing is my wifes loving it. shes just about at a comfortable temperature and i swear to god i saw her glancing at the thermostat at one point >.< I start to melt at 20. Got to shift about 100 PC's today. Its gonna suck
Norphy Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 Got into the office today and the damn aircon wasn't on! I am literally dripping with sweat at the moment. I'm half tempted to go off at lunchtime and buy a clean t-shirt.
Chuckster Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 I am loving the weather at the moment. For me, it's not hot enough - it needs to be hotter!!!

I went up into the loft at about 11.30 last night to retrieve it. Ahhhhh!!!
