korifugi Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 (edited) Just curious really - how long do people get chance to game over the course of a week? I get about an hour on weekday mornings (on the PS4), then about 15 mins each way on the train to/from work (PSVita). Weekday evenings are also good for me as I don't seem to need as much sleep as wifey - so there's my PS3 time. Weekends are generally good too, as I can usually clock up a good few hours then. Everyone else? Le Edit: Added a poll Edited June 20, 2016 by korifugi
DalekSec Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Get home at 5:30pm, Play PC till 7pm, eat dinner have shower etc to 8pm, play till 1am, go to bed. Repeat on weekdays till end of time. Weekends, wake up, play games till 7pm, each dinner and have shower, 8pm till 1am play games, Repeat on weekdays till end of time.
LeMarchand Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Which I had that much time for gaming! Tend to have lots on, so Gaming takes a back seat. Gaming time varies, but is generally limited to 20/30 mins while Mme LeMarchand is showering etc one or two weekdays/week, 30 to 60 mins while she makes her "duty call" to her mother on Sunday once a month or so (the call is weekly, but I'm often busy or cooking) and maybe 3 hours or so if we get a free weekend (maybe once every month or so).
unixman_again Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Absolutely none - never been interested in such things.
Sagima Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Usually about 1-2 hours a night weekdays and about 10-14 hours over the weekend
sted Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 varies so wildly its hard to say. Spent msot of this weekend playing wither fire emblem and rage rebooting or zelda twilight princess hd so much so that i ended up setting the wiiu up to a monitor so i could have the tv on at the same time and just pause it when something interesting was on (watching btcc and some of the support races dont really interest me) dont tend to play a lot weekdays between my youtube/crunchy roll/roosterteeth playlist and the precious little on tv i dont feel like it unless its games on 3ds. Got a backlog atm bought zelda months ago only just started it, got several xbox free games to go at, final fantasy 13 3, bought day of the tentacle in a steam sale and might one day see if i can live with the controls in starfox zero again other times i can go for weeks/months without playing anything
Geoff Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 (edited) Usually routine is to come home from work at 6pm. Cook and eat my tea while streaming youtube (Yogscast / Ashens / etc) on the telly downstairs. After that fire up the PC and do some World of Warcraft. After doing my daily wow grind I'm also playing Stellaris / Hearts of Iron 4 / Overwatch. I sometimes play Overwatch on the Steam Link on the PC downstairs too. The only aberrations are Mondays where I watch Top Gear / GoTs. Tuesdays where I go to the pub and play the quiz. Then Friday / Saturday I go to the pub / clubbing / etc. So in summary I probably clock 30 hours a week gaming. Edited June 20, 2016 by Geoff
mowgli82 Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 I can't remember the last time I actually turned my xbox on......must be about 4 months ago!
Tesla Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 tend to play a couple of evenings, from around 7ish til 11ish -12ish (i dont sleep til gone 12 most nights anyway) with a break or two in between. then i get whatever free time i have at weekends. usually an hour or two here and there.
localzuk Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Couple of hours a night weekdays, most of the day Sat and Sun. Though, cutting back at the moment due to setting up my business! Got an Xbox One on Saturday, to allow me to do a bit of casual gaming before bed to unwind after doing business stuff. So, about 20 hours a week at the moment, but dropping down a bit.
DalekSec Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 (edited) I've worked mine out Monday - Friday around 6 hours, 6x5 = 30 Sat/Sun about 14 hours, 14x2 = 28 58 hours, you need to increase your poll! I'm more than double the highest amount. Le Edit: Guys, go out and get some fresh air I get plenty, my window has to be wide open to cool my room. Edited June 20, 2016 by DalekSec
localzuk Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Guys, go out and get some fresh air I get plenty, my window has to be wide open to cool my room. Same... Though, I am allergic to the outdoors. Hayfever in summer. Don't like cold in winter. We've spent millenia perfecting indoors, so I figure I'm being offensive to those pioneers by going outdoors.
Garacesh Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 20+, easily. Gaming is about the only way of socialising I got.
localzuk Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Gaming is about the only way of socialising I got. I'm nearly always in a Twitch stream, if I'm gaming or not, so gaming is how I socialise too.
TechMonkey Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 I get maybe 2 hours a week if my other half is out at a regular event but that sometimes gets eaten into if there is a program I want to watch that I know she won't want to. & sometimes she doesn't go. & sometimes the nipper has a bad night so I get disturbed. If I'm lucky I may get a Saturday morning. If you'd asked me a few years agao, different story...
Sagima Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Guys, go out and get some fresh air The outdoors is too sunny, windy, wet, dry, dark, hot or cold at any one time. My window lets in enough of it
Lonix Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 (edited) You guys are making me feel better. I thought I was bad with my gaming but I still go out when I can, especially if the suns out and she's not working. I don't breach 20+ hours normally unless I got time off and shes working plus bad weather. Edited June 20, 2016 by Lonix Spelling
pcstru Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 If Badminton and Tennis count then ... probably still a little too much. The last week would probably be ~16 hours. I do try and force myself onto other tasks; but I'm also still enjoying being beholden to no one on how I spend my time.
abillybob Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 I wish I had time anymore to game! My day consists of, Waking up (barely), getting showered and off to work, leave work at 4.30 and get home for 5. Get changed and ready to see the girlfriend at 5.30, watch some TV and eat dinner at 6.15ish. Eat dinner and have 20 minutes until I go to my girlfriends for the night. My weekends I'm with the girlfriend and we tend to be out doing things together so we very rarely are at home! I might get an hour here and there before bed and I'll play something on my MacBook like Prison Architect but that's about it. If I have a day off where my girlfriend is at work how ever I tend to spend the whole day playing a game, just completed Tomb Raider last half term!
korifugi Posted June 20, 2016 Author Posted June 20, 2016 To be honest - I did think that's too low about 30 seconds after I posted it.

Duranis Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Normally I get home about 4pm. If my youngest is entertaining himself (as he does most the time at his age) then "Me" time is from around 5 until the boy goes to bed around 8.30. This is the time when I normally play a game, read or doing some painting. I try not to play after that as me and the Mrs like to have at least a couple of hours together before she goes to bed. If there is a game we are playing together then I will play more and if there is a game I'm really enjoying or I really feel like playing she doesn't mind me being on it for longer. I try and be pretty mindful about how much time I spend gaming though as I have been really bad in the past (wake up, game until bed time, repeat). That was ok when I was single but not such a good idea now I have a family. I still occasionally have a few weeks like this (like when Fallout 4 came out) and the Mrs is pretty understanding but I try not to let it go on too long. As a family we do spend quite a bit of time gaming together. With an 11 year old and a 19 year old it is nice that gaming is something we can find that everyone enjoys doing. Even when we play single player games we often will all end up playing the good ones so we talk about it and watch each other play, etc. We very rarely watch TV and we do a lot of "offline" family stuff as well (crafts, boardgames, going out, etc) but if we didn't all game together then there would be few activities that we could find that both the boys would want to be part of. Most of the boardgames, etc the oldest isn't interested in and most of the stuff the 19 year old wants to do is not suitable for an 11 year. Gaming gives us a nice common ground we can all bond around.
Davit2005 Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 The very early versions of Need for Speed you would regularly see me still sat in my coat after being at home for 4 hours, they were so addictive.
