I notice the the McDonalds in Preston is now one of the lucky ones serving their 'Signature' range: Signature Collection :: McDonalds.co.uk

This has been introduced due to customers now going elsewhere for quality burgers since chains such as Byrons and Five Guys began to expand. I may just have to check them out.

It's a bit weird they chose Preston though as we don't have any of the 'posh' burger chains in town anyway!

 

They are nice burgers tbh much better than a big mac but when made into a meal at £6-7 they are a bit pricey. Woolwich has them and I maybe partial to one every so often :)

whoa .. you go girl. Shouldn't really worry about the gunk falling out, if anything the only thing you should be worrying about is still having all your fingers at the end of it all.

 

Well it falls onto the plate and then you pick that up with your hands and eat that between gobfulls of fries! OM NOM NOM!

 

Damn... now I've made myself hungry!

Hey Guys and Gals, cheers for so many responses. It looks like neither of us are right or wrong, so there's no shame in how we do it.

Although doing it with hands and putting the effort in is clearly the way forward out of 100 people so far.

Local pub near me is advertising an Easter limited edition Burger made with a Hot Cross Bun. Bleuagh.

 

Even though that maybe the latest currant fad of the season, I too agree with your sentiments exactly.

Firstly, avoid burgers with fried eggs, the yolk WILL explode and drip onto your fingers turning into glue when in contact with bun leading to premature bun failure and falling meat chunks. (with exception to the sausage and egg baguette, but that's not a burger)

 

Secondly upon arrrival of your burger, don't rush in, assess the situation, is it even, is the filling centralized ( a lopsided hash brown will ruin your day), don't be afraid to rebuild your burger, we have already accepted you will get messy fingers.

 

Thirdly, any overhang? Get rid of it either tear off the lettuce overgrowth or graze it off.

 

Finally consume WITH HANDS, but beware once you have picked up the burger, don't for one second think you can put it down, when not eating burger hold to one side while shovelling fries in with other hand. Enjoy

 

PS was going to try and sneak in a Furburger reference but I don't think this is the place for it. :confused2:

I could have chosen option 1,2 or 4 depending upon option 3. Basic burger - hands only. Slightly more elaborate burger - I'll try and use my hands only. Huge multi-layered thing with increased risk of slippage - I'll use a knife (and only a knife) to cut it in half so that I can attack it from a different angle. Bare in mind that I also have the additional challenge of navigating the facial hair that covers the space where my mouth hole should be.

I tackled a Zinger Stacker burger at KFC this weekend. It was a nightmare! Won't be buying another... it was just TOO MUCH!
