Batteries

Apparently Christmas is coming....

 

I have 2 young children, so am going to need to stock up on a range of batteries before the jolly bearded fellow brings them lots of electrical gifts.

 

Where does everyone get batteries from at a reasonable price? I normally get Duracell's from Amazon, but does anyone know anywhere cheaper, or other brands that are just as good?

I've tried the really cheap ones, but in things like remote control cars etc they tend not to last long enough.

Would it be worth getting some Eneloop Pros? They're rechargeable and designed for high drain devices.

I use Batteries Online, Duracell Procell and Bulk Batteries and buy Duracell Industrial - they seem to be the same as regular Duracell without the advertising costs!!

 

Also Ikea came out very well in this test Battery Showdown — The Best AA Battery You Can Buy?- but there's not one near me.

I have an amazing ability to loose rechargeable batteries! Not quite as economical or good for the environment, but I like just being able to get a ready to use battery out when I need it!

I buy JCB branded ones from battery force in packs of 100 for AA - seem to last well and work out cheap

I've used this company for quite a while. Not sure if you want to splash out on rechargeables but they have a good selection here if you do.

KCS do a pack of 10 duracell industrial for £1.99. These are the ones I buy for the school and they seem to be ok.

rechargeables wherever possible.

 

Bought 20 odd decent MAh Duracel AA's and similar AAA's , couple of PP3's .. cost a bit but they will last for years.

I do photography and for my speedlight flashes I've always used the following batteries and seem to last ages!

 

For Rechargeable batteries - GP Recyko

For Standard Batteries - Duracell ProCell

 

Both in bulk off ebay - the Recyko batteries don't lose charge over time. keep 85% charge after 12 months.

I buy Kirkland Signature batteries from Costco, come in packs of 48(?) in both AA and AAA.

 

Good quality and last a long time in flashlights etc. Works out around 15p per battery from what I last remember.

I get these gold ones from a local toy shop - £3 a pack and they last forever ive had some in my xbox 360 controller for the past year and they aren't flat yet and thats constant use,! I can check the name of them when I get home tonight but they are very good batteries.

 

Looking on google I think they might be made by GP
