Joanne Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 So last night..... I'm in the institute and I go to do a MISH where you nick a nuclear reactor something something and I am a PERMANENT ENEMY OF THE BROTHERHOOD!! This made me sad because I kinda liked the brotherhood. I think I should have probably finished off a few more brotherhood missions before jumping into the institute mission, but whatevs. I think the institute is full of $#!7 and I had a feeling that son was dying. Duh. So I'm like all supreme director of the institute now and everyone in there is like... SHE'S AN OUTSIDER. Urgh. If anyone wants to PM me about this please do! Gonna be playing more tonight...
dastrix Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 So are you saying to leave institute missions till a lot later? I'm only level 15 just unlocked the brotherhood and just done the Kellogg mission
Tesla Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 So are you saying to leave institute missions till a lot later? I'm only level 15 just unlocked the brotherhood and just done the Kellogg mission I'm just starting Kellogg... switched it off last night when i had to go look for the key to get in the house. (i knew i should of leveled up to master lockpicking!)
Garacesh Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 I'm just starting Kellogg... switched it off last night when i had to go look for the key to get in the house. (i knew i should of leveled up to master lockpicking!) I'm already there, but haven't even found Nick yet I should probably get back on the main quest line instead of wandering around..
BassTech Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 The main story is quite short, I've gotten to the last main quest now but am going to leave it until I finish all of the side-quests, which imo is where Fallout 4 really shines.
Garacesh Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 [spoilerSIsh, maybe] I'm fairly certain that Mama Murphy is going to die if I keep feeding her chems. I last fed her Psycho and she almost had a heart attack.. There was actually a group of raiders in some warehouse/factory that were planning to raid Sanctuary because their leader recognised Mama Murphy. Apparently she gave him a fortune telling when he was younger and told him he'd become mean and nasty and brutal etc. Also I think he wanted what's-his-face's (the minutemen guy) hat.
Duranis Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 [spoilerSIsh, maybe] I'm fairly certain that Mama Murphy. Answer: Yes she does and you can then replace her with someone useful. Also all the things she tells you come up later at certain points of the story as conversation options. Yeah that raider encounter is cool. If you read the terminals at most of the big raider sites they all have some sort of connecting story and will update when you take out one of the sites. I was trying to raise my affinity with Preston last night so decide to just grab some power armor and go do a bunch of his stupid quests while he followed along. I hadn't messed with the power armor yet so modded it up with the jetpack and a few other fun things. The jetpack is so much fun I did manage to get killed twice though which hasn't happened for a long time. Both where one shot kills from legendary's, one a Mr Gutsy the other a Raider with a Gauss Rifle. The Mr Gutsy managed to 1 shot me even with upgraded power armor on. I also used the vertibird signal for the first time last night and flew from one side of the map to the other which was a lot of fun.
cherd84 Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 I found a set of X01 armour high up on a tower block roof (I think near the fallen sky bridge). It's guarded, but a bit of jet pack shenanigans fixed that. Now I have 3 sets of armour with different paint jobs (hot pink + flames, red + flames, green shark hot rod). Found this yesterday. No jet pack for me but I have been hoarding mini nukes so the Fat Man sorted out the bots guarding it.
Garacesh Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Found this yesterday. No jet pack for me but I have been hoarding mini nukes so the Fat Man sorted out the bots guarding it. Per chance was this 1 Assaultron and one.. Something else. The huge, chunky one of which I forget the name?
cherd84 Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Per chance was this 1 Assaultron and one.. Something else. The huge, chunky one of which I forget the name? 'Twas indeed. Sentry bots I believe!
Arreks Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Per chance was this 1 Assaultron and one.. Something else. The huge, chunky one of which I forget the name? Sentry? most likely, one on either side? that was fun!
Garacesh Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Yeah, I had to use frag mines for the first one, and then hide in the corridor underneath the sentry bot pewpewing it until it died. Did not expect that O_O
GuyJD Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 I spent most of yesterday just exploring and avoiding the main quest line. I upgraded my weapons, something I have skipped over until now and oh baby! it's amazing how powerful a 10mm pistol can become, I was running round taking names, took out the queen Mirelurk before she even set foot on dry soil with just the 10mm pistol.
Joanne Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Nice. I'm on with the minute men grind missions... will they ever end?????????????? Think I need to look into upgrading my weapons and choosing better perks when leveling up.
Joanne Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 I went to Vault.... 9something (the one in the south west corner) and that was interesting! Gotta love smashing up assaultrons with a massive axe!
Tesla Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Anyone else come across the Preston Garvey impersonator? That was odd. nothing seems to have come of it apart from me seeing him, calling him out, than him running off...
Garacesh Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Nice. I'm on with the minute men grind missions... will they ever end?????????????? Think I need to look into upgrading my weapons and choosing better perks when leveling up. Probably not. Are they not repeatable? I spent half of last night doing the Brotherhood of Steel questline.. Before realising that "Cleansing the Commonwealth" and.. $TheOtherMission (I forget its name), are repeatable quests and not actually part of it. Whoops! I do need to focus on settlements more as I predict they're going to be useful later on in the game, but I just can't be fussed putting points into the Mayor perk or whatever it's called to be able to access my junk elsewhere. There's just too many other things that are way too important.. Sneak, Gun Nut, Science, etc. Anyone been to the Museum of Witchcraft yet? That was fun!
Joanne Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Where was it? I wanna find him! I bet it was a synth!
pcstru Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Nice. I'm on with the minute men grind missions... will they ever end?????????????? I wondered that when I had to go back and clear out a couple of places for the second time so I've started mixing in some of the other missions. I did invest in the idiot savant perk and then trying to get stupid (drunk) when reporting or anticipating mission success and the award of XP. I think it might be working but I'm not 100% sure!
Tesla Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Probably not. Are they not repeatable? Anyone been to the Museum of Witchcraft yet? That was fun! Haven't managed to get across to it yet
GuyJD Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Anyone been to the Museum of Witchcraft yet? That was fun! I went there yesterday, that was crazy, I was truly scared to go upstairs. Did you take it back or sell it at the end? I went with take it back and it was really warm and fuzzy.
Tesla Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Where was it? I wanna find him! I bet it was a synth! I can't remember.

Joanne Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 I wondered that when I had to go back and clear out a couple of places for the second time so I've started mixing in some of the other missions.
