Anyone else come across the Preston Garvey impersonator? That was odd. nothing seems to have come of it apart from me seeing him, calling him out, than him running off...

Yeah i found this guy, killed him after he turned hostile, Can't remember if i found synth components on him though...

Can't remember what comes after that to be honest... I think danse spoke to me when i completed the mission in the fort and then i went and did other stuff :S

I think one of my missions has glitched, i cleared out some super mutants, got told to speak to Danse and nothing happens apart from him wanting to be my companion

Shame you can't gain a new companion that way. That would be the only way I'd replace Dogmeat

 

Question: How do I get more actual Brotherhood missions? I did the bit where I found the dead guys and then the old geezer, and I convinced him to rejoin the Brotherhood (yay Black Widow perk) but Paladin Danse won't give me any more missions, I only have the repeatable ones from the Scribes.

After I took it back I found a raider camp just over the hill with a tower with a siren on top of it, I set off the siren and mummy came running over the hill and started attacking the raiders, I ran down there thinking I had a new friend, NOPE!!! She came running straight at me and I was dead lol

How much of the main story have you done? because to do more brotherhood quests "i think" you have to get so far to tirgger an event. And it's an extremely hard to miss event... xD

Yeah, theres an event closely after rescuing nick that will allow you to continue with the brotherhood.

I finally got 2 of the last 3 companions I didn't have yet, Strong and Hancock (the last guy is the institute one and I haven't started their quests yet). Working on unlocking all of their perks and so far have Piper, Curie, Deacon and Preston (who is now wearing a sequin dress as he dumped 5 new radiant quests on me before he would even let me ask him to follow me). There are quick ways to get approval for pretty much all of them but I'm doing it "properly" by having them follow along with me, it's quite nice as you get to hear some different dialogue. Looking forward to getting my girl Curie and her flaming sword of death back though.

 

I also finally picked up the X-01 power armor and modded it up to max with the red flames paint job and a jetpack. I don't normally use power armor but it looked so awesome I spent a couple of hours just wandering around wrecking stuff in it. Really need to go find the rest of the hotrod mags to unlock more paint jobs.

 

I did also lose a power armor frame. In a certain area near the end is a deep water filled hole. I didn't notice it was deep until I had jumped in and sunk right to the bottom. Thankfully it was just a junk suit that I had found just before going into the area so wasn't a big loss. I also manged to swim back to it and get all the armor parts off so was only the frame left. Also picked up a really cool looking Unique weapon in the same area.

 

One last thing if you haven't found it yet go and have a look for the robotics showroom place (NW from Starlight drive if I remember correctly). Some very funny moments in there and is one of the more interesting places I have come across so far.

I like CVRIE, she seems fun. But I like Dogmeat too much

Strong seems to be a bit of a moron, but that's to be expected.

McCreedy is a buttsniff, but that's nothing new.

Codsworth is, well, Codsworth. He's nice and all, but not companion material.

Preston.. Sorry to say it, I actually don't like Preston that much. There's nothing wrong with him. But there's nothing special either.

 

And that's all the potential companions I got so far, unless Tina from Vault 81 can be one, too. I sent her to Sanctuary.

That's why I put loads of points into strength, and the "Pack Mule"? perk, and put the "pocketed" mod on all my armour. Still only 350 carry weight though.

CVRIE is french-lady-voiced Mr. Handy, found in the secret underground part of Vault 81. She is able to administer Stimpak's and has a flamethrower - her description, not mine. I haven't taken her with me so I don't fully know what she's capable of.

I don't think so. You need to go into Vault 81, [spoilerS] and then after Erin's cat has escaped, go find it. Then return and hand in the quest. Leave and come back later and the kid that showed you around will have been bitten by a mole rat. This starts a quest that gets you into a secret part of Vault 81. CVRIE is at the end, guarding the antidote. After you've taken the antidote from her she asks to become your companion. If you refuse, she will enter the 'main' part of Vault 81 and hang around there until you ask her to join you.

 

CVRIE is a Mr. Handy (Mrs. Handy?) so it's very unlikely she got married

I doubt that's CVRIE, though I'd guess "French lady" would be one of the many downloadable voices for a Mr. Handy, so there'd be more than one. CVRIE is a medical-based Mr. Handy (or a medical equivalent or Mr. Gutsy, I guess)

Provided you ask them to pick it up rather than trade with them, they will just keep picking stuff up.

No she probably has another name. When you said french though I remembered that one, rather amusing!

The bot in diamond city and Curie are different but look the same and have the same voice. Think the one in DC is called Edna or something. Curie does become a romance option BTW

 

With the right perk layout you can ignore carry weight completely. You need the perk that lets you move normally and fast travel when over encumbered at the cost of AP and the perks that increase AP regen to balance it out. Haven't done this myself yet as I need about 15 points to do it.
