VeryPC Posted October 30, 2015 Author Posted October 30, 2015 Woohoo... You have to watch out for the quiet ones, so they say. Looks like it proved right this time. Only just getting over the shock. I don't know how I am going to be able to concentrate on SharePoint for the rest of the afternoon. Love the mangling of my username, it harks back to the early 1990's and my first email address that I ever had. I might just need to change it to something more pronounceable. Yeah - congratulations! I'll PM you for your T-shirt size. Cheers, Al

Or something. Although I am probably classed as both old guard and new blood... been on here since Feb 2009, but have little time to join in the fun! Well done to all of the winners and thanks again to @VeryPC 3
GrumbleDook Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 (edited) Don't worry about old guard / new blood ... otherwise it will turn into a 3 Yorkshireman sketch (the 4th Yorkshireman went to work in London with @Domino of course). People will talk about how they had to knit their own thick Ethernet cable and who had to use Tractor tyres as platters in hard drives. Edited October 30, 2015 by GrumbleDook 3

VeryPC_Colin_M Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Something like this ? More like this, especially when I may or may not have deputised for evil stig back in the day..
NokiX Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Well, if you were to buy it directly from our webshop, the price would be as follows (just the NUC as configured - no monitor, keyboard or mouse), but if you give us a call on 0114 321 8609 and tell us you're @NokiX from EduGeek we'll give you the Education rate, which will be significantly cheaper. Al Thanks It may be a while before I can afford it on my junior technician wage but i'll let you know!
hardtailstar Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 I'm ready for today's draw....... oh wait..... sadface 3
Joanne Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 OMG do I get a shiny shiny pen drive for suggesting drag race in car park? 😁 1
Seb1780 Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Thanks for the USB drive that arrived this morning 1
VeryPC Posted November 3, 2015 Author Posted November 3, 2015 OMG do I get a shiny shiny pen drive for suggesting drag race in car park? Yes you do! In all the excitement of completing Socktober I'd forgotten about the challenge suggestion rewards. You @Joanne will get on for the "dash down the car park suggestion You @StevieM will get one for adapting the above into our "drag race" and you @rad will get one too for the suggestion "I think the next challenge has to involve cardboard boxes" which we did with the Generic Giant Block Removing Stacking Falling Down Game. 8GB USB sticks for you 3 - thanks for your helps folks! hallb15 Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 So when do the new socks start shipping? I'm wearing my Edugeek/VeryPC/BETT socks today but my VeryPC Rulers of IT socks are completely worn out now and I can't keep going on one pair of socks! 1
StevieM Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 Can I just add that, a full week after @sparkeh's bits and pieces post, I've STILL got Hue & Cry buzzing around my head, and occasionally leaping out of my mouth. Thanks a lot, pal! 3

Thanks a lot, pal! There's a cure for that: Badger Badger Badger.com! The Original Dancing Badgers!
StevieM Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 There's a cure for that: Badger Badger Badger.com! The Original Dancing Badgers! No, that doesn't have any kind of hook. It does, however, remind me of this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lITuHDdhdkw 3
VeryPC Posted November 4, 2015 Author Posted November 4, 2015 So when do the new socks start shipping? I'm wearing my Edugeek/VeryPC/BETT socks today but my VeryPC Rulers of IT socks are completely worn out now and I can't keep going on one pair of socks! We're getting all the stuff together to start mailing out prizes and socks. Last few T-shirts and mugs to personalise, then the big mail merge for the socks. We're also getting a franking machine for the sock mailing too. All in all I expect to be sending out stuff early/mid next week. The VeryPC marketing department turns into more of a production and shipping dept after one of our big competitions! Al 4
rad Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 Thanks to @VeryPC for another month of competitions, I really do enjoy reading the posts even if I dont contribute loads. (not helped by a week away and HT week when I am busy around the school) The videos make lunch times more exciting 2
