sted Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 (edited) Playing more Persona 5, nearly up to the opening (it makes sense if you've played it) Got a few S.links maxed, but I keep hitting ones that require a stat maxed to continue... Not cool. korifugi Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 Put the last couple of nails into the Rise of the Tomb Raider platinum this weekend. Now I've decided that I should really play through Dishonored on the PS3 (as I have the second one on my shelf for the PS4), and Valentino Rossi: The Game has been staring at me from my PS4 shelf for too long now, so I've just started that.
LeMarchand Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 Finally finished Alice:The Madness Returns on PS3. Felt the learning curve was a bit steep in a couple of places and was disappointed that if you took a wrong turn you could find yourself prevented from fully exploring an area because of the autosave (which in itself seemed to choose some odd save points). Otherwise a lot of fun.
Lonix Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 I've been going through the command and conquer series. Some fantastic moments but well... I'm on number 4 now and ... just from the very get go I don't like it and remember rushing it just to finish the story.. EA really screwed that up. I'm a massive fan of the original two games where it felt some what realistic units with a touch of Sci-FI. Later on it had a few realistic units and just completely Sci-Fi. They even over complicated the units....

I'm a massive fan of the original two games where it felt some what realistic units with a touch of Sci-FI. Later on it had a few realistic units and just completely Sci-Fi. They even over complicated the units.... iirc i gave up with generals and never finished that. I remember playing c&c and red alert a lot as lan games a long time ago. i also remember the ai on the dos version of c&c where you could build sandbags from you base to the enemy base and block them in so that they basically ran out of cash while you mined the map dry of tiberium and rushed them with as many mammoth tanks as you cba building. started fire emblem echoes shadows of valentia yesterday. so far and im only 3 hours or so in it seems a lot more fun than fates was (but i diddnt enjoy fates and got to he last level on birthright never even booted up conquest/revelations) the dungeon crawling is an odd thing in an fe game as is the way you promote units but its a nice change and true to form i already have 2 Pegasus knights im training up (always seem to end up with lots of flying units (and female units in general) in any fe game ive played and as they arnt weak to archers in this game (and no weapon triangle) even less of an issue). i finally have a game that uses the c-stick on my new 3ds though its about as much use as a chocolate teapot trying to re-angle the camera with a stick that small and move at the same time
Bedders Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 Started WoW a couple of weeks ago. Made it to level 60 in the first week, and gained 4 levels in the last week. Going to be a while before max level! Also Titan Quest: Anniversary Edition is a great time sink, and started Stellaris last week. Command & Conquer: Generals was a fantastic game. Used to play over Hamachi. AK-47's FOR EVERYONE!
sted Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 Command & Conquer: Generals was a fantastic game. Used to play over Hamachi. AK-47's FOR EVERYONE! iirc (and its been a while) i just got stuck on 1 mission for so long it became no fun and again iirc i think every newer version of c&c past red alert i preferred the older ones but thats probably more to do with playing them on a lan in a pub (10mb bnc lol)as much as it is the game by the time generals was out i diddnt do that anymore
sted Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 With all this C&C talk, has anyone tried OpenRA? nope i remember using openttd a while back (transport tycoon) and wasting far too many hours on that just building ridiculous railways
ICTDirect_Dave Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 C&C Generals was the RTS game that - for me - Too the best game crown away from Total Annihilation. The Generals Zero Hour expansion was brilliant and if you paired it with the Shockwave mod it was enormous fun!
failnator Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 the last command and conquer was generals zero hour may have to get that game bacl out again. I did give in on steam the other day and get star wars galactic battlegrounds on PC takes me back to my first computer.
localzuk Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 C&C Generals was the RTS game that - for me - Too the best game crown away from Total Annihilation. The Generals Zero Hour expansion was brilliant and if you paired it with the Shockwave mod it was enormous fun! Its a great game, sure. However it should never have had the title "Command and Conquer" attached to it. That game was the start of the end for C&C.
Theory Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 Started WoW a couple of weeks ago. Alliance or Horde? Race? Class? Spec? Realm?
Bedders Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 Alliance or Horde? Race? Class? Spec? Realm? Horde, Orc (never played as an Orc before - I used to play WOTLK on a private server several years ago but never got beyond level 20), Warlock, Destruction, EU Magtheridon. I only got into it because others in my gaming community were needing another person for Raids.
ICTDirect_Dave Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 Its a great game, sure. However it should never have had the title "Command and Conquer" attached to it. That game was the start of the end for C&C. See, I think it was the peak of all the C&C games! I loved the stories in the tiberium storyline and in the Red Alert timeline, but Generals was an attempt to freshen up the franchise. They should've stuck at it and made more of these rather than revisiting old glories. A lot of the team behind Generals ended up going to work on Star Wars Empire at War. Probably my second favourite RTS of all time.
failnator Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 age of mythology is still my favorite played it since the day of release
korifugi Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 As we're on the subject of older RTS' - Did anyone play Warzone 2100? I used to love the idea of the expanding map & customisable units (especially loved putting the lightest chassis on the hover movement option, with a sensor dish and having loads of artillery in my base - slave it all together and no more enemy base!)
BKGarry Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 I am feeling an offshoot thread for arranging edugeek C&C challenges (Although I to prefer the Tiberium universe) 1
DalekSec Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 age of mythology is still my favorite played it since the day of release Great game! I prefer AoE2 played it since i was a wee kid! Only Bioshock trumps it to being my all time fav 2
failnator Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 Yer i played loads of AoE2 as well just always loved the mythology behind it when i was young
localzuk Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 See, I think it was the peak of all the C&C games! I loved the stories in the tiberium storyline and in the Red Alert timeline, but Generals was an attempt to freshen up the franchise. They should've stuck at it and made more of these rather than revisiting old glories. Generals lacked polish, and was overall quite a lacklustre game IMO. Fun for a quick skirmish, but meh everywhere else. The Red Alert games were by far the best. Long Live Kane! I moved on to Anno games instead after C&C. Though they've now been ruined too.
Arreks Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 Been getting back into Stellaris recently, after getting the latest DLC and updates.. that mixed with EVE, really filling my space needs 1
localzuk Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 Been getting back into Stellaris recently, after getting the latest DLC and updates.. that mixed with EVE, really filling my space needs Oddly, same for both with me. Plus Elite Dangerous. I got further than ever before in Stellaris recently, in Iron Man mode, and then made a stupid judgment call and lost my entire fleet. With EVE - I've decided to try going down the "ninja WH mining" and manufacture route. See how I get on. I don't have the time for a big corporation focused game any more, so am playing a lot more casually. Also, damn it looks good lately. DX11 has been kind on that game!!
Theory Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 Nice, I'm Horde, Blood Elf, Priest, Shadow, EU Stormscale
sted Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 I am feeling an offshoot thread for arranging edugeek C&C challenges (Although I to prefer the Tiberium universe) might be worth an offshoot for mp games in general list what youve got see if anyone interested for instance i want to try halo 5 in coop and have a propper go at heists on gta5 on my xbox neither really work with randos off t'internet and i dont know enough people who play anymore
