High on bath salts, alleged Norse god attempts tree love • The Register

A 41-year-old Florida man is facing a pantheon of charges after allegedly getting hammered on bath salts, declaring himself to be Norse storm god Thor, attempting to commit "a sexual act on a tree", shrugging off two taserings, and assaulting a police officer.

A first tasering proved ineffective as the perp "pulled the probes out of his body and continued to fight". A second high voltage blast ended similarly, as Crowder "again pulled out the probes and went at the officer with clenched fists".

Using electricity on a Norse God perhaps known best for throwing lightning at people... Who'dathunk it wouldn't work? :D

A wild Thor wants to battle!

Police used Taser!

It's not very effective...

But srsly kids, don't do bath salts.

I wonder what they'll charge him with? 'eh? 'eh? :D

Perhaps Assault and Battery? Right? Right?

Alright, I'll stop

For the sake of decency I think we should leaf this subject alone...

I disagree an open debate about this subject is necessary! I would like at least tree reasons why!? Also I'd like to branch out to other members to see what they think of this subject.

Why didn't they just shoot him, seems to be the american polices first reaction, Oh! may be he was white, that'll explain it.......................

To be fair to American L.E, they do usually taze if you're aggressive but unarmed.

Most cops aren't crooked. Most cops are decent people donning the badge to make a difference. It's just the crooked ones are usually protected by an equally crooked system.

I dunno about an open debate, but certainly a mass-debate.....

Is showing mother nature a good time aggressive behaviour?

Not at all. But he was coming at the officers (ooh-err, bad choice of words perhaps) with clenched fists..

Presumably because his good time with mother nature was interrupted :p

It's public indecency. The police would have approached him and then it would seem he walked over to them in a threatening way "clenching his fists" and not doing what they say and for god sake man ripping taser probes out of his body.

I'm sure this guys mistaken I think he was the hulk...

Thor's the god of thunder

he rides upon his filly

I'm Thor, he cried

His horse replied

Then get a thaddle, thilly

:D

I don't appear to be able to give you rep! The only other options available to me are to report as inappropriate or give you an infraction... all 3 seem appropriate! Thank you for making me laugh out loud!

So can someone enlighten me... how exactly does one get high off bath salts? Did he soak for too long?

"Bath salts" are not a hygiene product, as the name might imply. "Bath salts" are central nervous system stimulants that inhibit the norepinephrine-dopamine reuptake system and can lead to serious, and even fatal adverse reactions.

They're an American thing, I think, not really made their way over here as far as I've heard. Not that I'm particularly in a place to hear about these things, I suppose. BORN TO BE OLD.

I thought the same thing. I was disappointed when I read the original Register article and discovered that 'bath salts' was a euphemism for narcotics that look like Epsom Salts :(

A lot of people talk about 'Bath Salts' as a street name for Legal High's as well. Meow Meow has now been banned and is an illegal drug. All legal highs are sold as not to be used for human consumption and have talk on the packages that they're plant fertiliser or... You've guessed it bath salts. Hence the street name.

A close friend of mine took them at age 15 regularly and it eventually killed him metaphorically speaking. He is no longer the person I know, he can't speak properly and all his words are slurred, he's pale white, hardly any teeth left, his hairs falling out and he's homeless. It's strange to think he was an A* pupil at one stage. They're vile things and the fact you can order them online and get them delivered to your door like you would an electrical toothbrush or a sponge they're the most worrying type of drug.

I find a lot of young people believe because they're legal they're safe. This definitely is not the case and can be more harmful than drugs such as herorin. Anyone who deals with them in my eyes should be put behind bars but how do you do that when it's a legal substance!

Just my two pence :)

This is why legalising drugs would be an excellent idea - because once all the usual suspects are legal, the ones that we understand the effects of and know how to manage & treat, people aren't driven to these new and unknown substances. Prohibition was never a great idea anyway, but is completely and horribly flawed when factories in China can churn out molecules on demand via internet order. The way the law works - it's legal until we specifically ban it - can never keep up with how quickly we can create chemicals now. The law is so specific, in fact, that just changing the chirality* of a banned molecule makes it suddenly legal.

*in brief: the arrangement of atoms, almost like a mirror image of the original molecule. They are sometimes referred to as left-handed/right-handed.

Doesn't have to be a legal high either, check the front of The Metro. A college student took diet pills containing DNP which is used in explosives. Burned up from the inside and was cooked alive in her own body.
