bossman Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 @R06: We use these as the quality is fantastic, you can then plug in to computer with usb and upload anywhere as MP3 Music and MFL plus other subjects swear by them. Good luck 1

6Foot2 Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 With less emphasis on the high quality our English and Languages staff use Audacity and a USB or 3.5 mm microphone and have done for a few years now without complaint. The acoustics of the rooms where our oral tests take place aren't great. I don't think that our students would benefit from us throwing more money at this. 1
3s-gtech Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 We use a cheaper version of the Olympus Bossman linked. They encode to MP3 onboard, so you just plug it into the PC and drag and drop the MP3 files from it. Great kit. 2
steve Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 A while back, we went for 2 options: A standalone device, the Zoom H2N Zoom H2n Handy Recorder at Music Village Education And a USB mic - also used for podcasts etc. , along with laptop and audacity: Samson C01U Recording and Podcasting Microphone Pak: Amazon.co.uk: Musical Instruments Staff prefered the mic, even if it was a little more effort as they could easily see if it was recording and check to test the recording levels etc. The stand alone device worked but for exams, staff wanted to be certain the recording was working. 1
john Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 We bought Blue Snowball USB Mics and used Audacity, we received a letter of commendation from JCQ and AQA for the high quality of our audio recordings and that they would be adding our setup as a recommended way with the recommended hardware 1
