You'll find that you will progress quite quickly when it comes to swimming. Are you overweight or just out of shape? I know it's a personal question but someone who is of a healthy weight, with no physical aliments and is just unfit will respond very well to cardio and will soon be swimming a mile for fun!

both... although looking at me you wouldn't notice I'm overweight.

Just a quick tip for people like me who are too indulged in playing video games to go out and exercise, try doing exercise between rounds or matches (depends what game your playing). I started doing this for a bit and this got me more motivated to actually turn off the PS4, shut steam down and exercise properly

Like i said though, you'll progress quickly. When i started swimming i couldn't string two lengths together, and although i've stopped now due to MA training and weight lifting, i was swimming a mile in 30 minutes. Keep at it!

Had a good session last night as Capoeira, my coordination needs work but it wasn't too bad. Legs and arms are aching a bit today (stairs aren't my friend) but it's not as bad as I'd feared, looking forward to next weeks session.

Going away over the bank holiday and just discovered my hotel room comes with fried breakfast buffet each morning.

I survived the lurgy. Went down the gym last night for a bit but didn't achieve a whole lot! A few sets of misc lifting and half-hour of cardio.

I got Muay Thai training tonight. Hope there's no sparring as my shoulder is a bit creaky. I'll keep a low profile and hit a bag.

In other news though I'm down to 90.8kg from +/- 95kg a few weeks ago and starting to see my abs again! Das it.

Gah gawd DAMMIT I've not had a good time of this shoulder. Missed an AWESOME sparring session last Friday sitting out Muay Thai, dutifully did very little lifting last week (all my cardio, light chest Monday, then leg day twice) leading up to it. Felt more or less ok yesterday morning. Start of heavy chest routine last night and after pretty much the first set something was SCREAMING in there. Very annoyed, carried on anyway. Couldn't put my tshirt on this morning. Having a real job lifting the shoulder for anything today.

VERY annoyed with this now!

Oh well at least I've dropped to 90.2kg and can still do legs and cardio.

Lol, dear diary...

There's your problem - right there - what on earth possessed you to carry on after your shoulder started giving you trouble? If you have damaged the joint or rotator cuff it could take a long long time to get better. Mine took two years all in all.

I did my first proper workout without my PT today. Even managed an extra round of some of it. Came away exhausted and a bit shaky so I think I might have got something out of it :)

Yeah but I was all annoyed and stuff. Actually it was kinda daft and (I would like to think) I know better. No choice now, will definitely have to rest it up until it is actually better.

Nicely done on the workout though. What did you do and what's sore this morning? :)

I did the workout my PT put together - 4 basic rounds of leg, arm, core, cardio x 4 with different machines and weights etc. I managed to do the first one twice - working up to twice round, one day...

This morning I ache a little bit but I will start feeling it when I go to my madly fast Zumba class tonight!

I find the more I do, the easier the stiffness. So I'm a bit sore today, but if I go to the gym later I'll be fine. If I don't, I probably won't be fine tomorrow!!

Zumba's got the makings of some decent cardio Witch, have a good sesh there. :)

Joanne there's no way I could see myself training one bodypart again the very next day, I'd be feeble as hell!

Well then, all I got is legs and abs until this improves. And cardio ofc. I time it so that Tipping Point is on the telly in the gym if only doing cardio, and I like that show so I do. :) Actually I got some decent DOMS off my chest workout of rage Monday night, so accomplished at least something.

Shoulder is a little better than I deserve it to be today, largely because the gf put some super-strength eastern European muscle rub on it last night. Encouraged as that likely means it's muscle-ey rather than joint-ey or bone-ey. Learned my lesson, laying off it until next week. I'll probably take ANOTHER week off Muay Thai though and I really really cannot stand missing training. :(

Most of the time... my workouts train pretty much everything. Yesterday was deadlifts, bench, pullups and rows (so I suppose mainly upper body) today I'll probably do eff-all and some pansy stretching because I'm not feeling it today (Lady problems)

Might start off slowly at home tonight, with stuff like sit ups, press ups etc, might get be more motivated to carry on.....

My feet hurt....

Zumba-ed it hardcore huh? That's the way. :)

And for some silly, unknown reason your post reminded me of this:

I did

No point doing something unless you chuck yourself right in. Can't stand that "oh, I go to classes" thing from women who stand at the back and idly wave an arm now and again.

(or go "swimming" in full makeup)

Gym again today. Hmmm. Already finding it a bit boring. Come on Witch, it's only just over an hour of your life....

Been messing with my diet recently and its amazing what you can achieve by changing your macros.

I've felt a bit bloated and noticed the mid 30s belly coming on a little, so removed carbs completely from 2 meals a day and only have them with my evening meal.

The difference is incredible, I'm very lean after doing it for 3 months and my muscles are really starting to show through.

I always have a cheat day at the weekend where I can eat anything I want, to keep the body's metabolism up.

Seems I am quite carb sensitive!

I wish I had more dicipline when it comes to food!

I've got peri peri chicken and tzaziki for my dinner though, so not too bad!

I've had a change in routine recently too and have lost a good few lbs so far.

My diet currently:

Breakfast = Small bowl of Proteiny Granola followed by a pre workout on the way to the gym.

Second breakfast (once I arrive at my desk) = Banana and protein shake

Lunch = Good serving of salad, coldslaw and pork (Tesco Pulled Pork shoulder £6, cook it on Sunday and makes about 4 portions for the week each with about 40g proteiny goodness - tasty too and a bargain!)

Afternoon Snack = Protein Bar, some other fruit and/or yoghurt

Tea = Whatever we fancy however currently either avoiding the carbs entirely or sticking with Sweet Potato.

Snack = Yoghurt

Not entirely sure on the Macros or the overall Calories but definitely in a caloric deficit as the weight is dropping off. Protein is still really high and still lifting 5 times a week to make sure i don't just disintegrate entirely!

Plan to keep going for another couple of weeks, no set goal weight wise really just going to stick to it until i get bored. Oddly my strength hasn't suffered all that much, put up the 38kg dumbbells for 3x8 reps shoulder press over the weekend which is a best for me so happy days!
