Ric_ Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 The snow plowing is all private too, people just put plows on the front of their trucks and drive down the road, its a pain after you have just cleared the pavement outside your house and one drives down and dumps all the snow on it... Some pleasant soul ploughed my street in such a way to fill my doorway. Later on his pickup couldn't push the weight of the snow and I laughed at him! (See large pile of abandoned snow outside my neighbour's door)

eyetea Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Had about 1 minutes worth of reasonably heavy snow (enough to make the ground patchy).. about 2 seconds after this about 10 people on Facebook all put up pictures of this "amazing" snow - there was still more grass than snow!!!

Dos_Box Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Just took kids to school. We had snow on the ground at 7am by 8am it had been rained on a bit. Now it's sheet ice. Kids were let straight into classrooms whilst they spread salt on the playground.

The A537, there is an inn on it called The Cat & Fiddle Inn, right on the top. So its known locally as 'The Cat', the road is currently closed due to the 24cm of snow on the ground and general blizzard like conditions, here's their webcam and a weather site for Buxton in general with a few other webcams.
