I'm hoping to see the Khirazx (or however you spell it) Cartel Fighter in glorious 1080p CGI! Love that ship!

Kihraxz

Looking something like this:

Yup! I have the X-Wing model. Went up behind an Imperial Shuttle containing Emperor Palpatine at close range, 5 dice, 5 hits, dead shuttle. Opponent couldn't believe it. :D

Luke Skywalker not in the trailer.

Or is he and just has his face covered?

Watch the trailer where you see him crouched down touching R2-D2, does the gloved hand not like a lot like the glove holding the weird lightsabre?

just a thought.

This is the only thing I noticed that might possibly be Luke Skywalker. Lots of interesting theories doing the rounds as to where he might be :-) Might be a bit over excited now with under 2 months to go!

I'm so very excited now. That shot of the 'Falcon making the jump to lightspeed was brilliant.

Everything feels closer to the original trilogy in terms of the look of everything. It's about time it was done properly.

My bet is that Luke has gone into yoda-like exile with R2 and we'll only see him toward the end possibly when he steps in to help Finn in his lightsaber fight (I can dream right?)

This is another hypothesis that my technician put forward. Disney now has the rights to the franchise and they are going to start churning them out quite quickly so they do not want to burn all of their ideas straight away. He reckons Luke will come in quite near the end as a precursor to the next film.

My reckoning is that he will step forward and it will be either help the sith (i know they are no longer called sith but for ease lets call them that) to destroy the Jedi as his father chose to do or help his sister to defeat the new bad guys and there is the story for film number two.

Just my mad ramblings, haha.

Yeah, I think they're holding Luke in reserve for a face off with the big bad in the second film. We know that Ren isn't the big nasty (there are always two:))

They've also said that they're looking at making standalone films based on individual characters, and Luke's journey to mastery would be a perfect story to tell.

I'd like to think that they're not going to make him all Dark-sidey just yet. From the looks of things the Jedi haven't begun their recovery yet. If they rely on a couple of force-newbies to kickstart the order it's going to be years before we see many new Jedi. They'll need Luke to find and teach a few more yet.

I know in one of the non-film works Luke does become Sith, but if they actually used that plot in the new generation of movies then loads of fans would be annoyed since it's basically scrapping what happened in the earlier films.. Luke had his two moments where he nearly joined the dark side and overcame them.

I believe that's around the time of the clone emperor, he gets over it though (possibly with the help of Leia). There is a lot of material in the books that would make for a great TV series or some big films but with it being non-canon that's not likely to happen now. I'm not sure where the games stand though as they were technically "extended universe" so should probably be non-canon as well, so Yoda returns to being the only one of his race that's ever been seen.

I thought it strange that he wasn't on the movie poster yet Mark Hamills name is in the credits so I think we can possibly see him just before the final credits roll.

I can't wait to find out!

*Boy how fanboi is this thread getting!*
