Was out for a walk this afternoon on the Lancaster Canal at Haslam Park in Preston.

Saw a large fish leap out of the water in front of us about 20m away. By the time we got to the point it had leap a cormorant surfaced a bit further up with the same fish in it's mouth.

It had caught a pike!

Once we'd caught up with it I got some pics and just missed it eating the fish by half a second (it ate it whole in less than a second!) but managed to get a pic just after:

Pics were slightly out of focus due to the water playing merry hell with the autofocus.

Its a Canon 6D with the 24mm - 105mm f4 L Lens :)

Very nice, I've just got the 6D mk2 and that lens. I need to get out and use the thing.

Went up on the moors above White Coppice near Chorley yesterday evening for a walk. The phone camera must have got a bit confused with all the mist, haze and setting sun, but the result was very good I think.

Geek photographists...

Can you recommend a good book for a late DSLR adopter? I'm frustrated by the need to look at what I'm doing with menus rather than looking at my subject...

Just one of many I took at the weekend, but pleased with how some of my photos from Formula E have turned out. Not always easy photographing at circuits and temporary circuits can be even trickier!
