Wouldn't recommend. Derp. I meant would've been better as a book. Too late for me to edit the post now though.

It's brilliant and definitely worth a watch. It's a relatively low budget movie described as a Cyberpunk Action Body Horror. It's full of dark humour, crazy action and is somewhat thought provoking. It's not scary (it has no jump scares etc) but it is graphic and very violent. Worth a watch! 1

I did enjoy this film (not sure enjoy is the correct word given the subject matter, but you get what I mean) Blinded by the Light Got this as a freebie download. Set in Luton and based on the love of Bruce Springsteen’s music, it might not be for everyone. It says a lot about Luton that they were able to film 1987 Luton in 2018/9 Luton so easily. We are very familiar with the town as Mr gee40 was born there and we go back regularly to watch LTFC... my introduction to Luton was in 1987 The ending is a bit schmaltzy, but otherwise an easy watch
thimon Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 Has Upgrade been discussed here? I absolutely LOVE this film! It's probably not to everyone's taste, reminds me of Venom somewhat. I won't say exactly why I love it as it will spoil the film for those that haven't seen it. Great ending.

I was watching a YouTube video the other day where they showed how one of the main effects was done (at in the video below). Note. Video contains some graphic violence. Worthy of an Oscar, even though I preferred JoJo Rabbit I think 1917 is more deserving of it 9/10 Blinded by the light - Pakistan kids discovers Bruce Springsteen, good run of the mill feel good film with good soundtrack 7.5/10

LeMarchand Posted January 19, 2020 Author Posted January 19, 2020 Aladdin (2019) Preferred this to the original, probably because I find Robin Williams annoying - or maybe because I knew how much genie shtick to expect in advance. After the near-perfect The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast, I found the original a bit lacking, probably due to Howard Ashman's illness at the time (he passed away before the film was completed). The new version adds a great new song for Jasmine that makes her a lot less passive than in the animation, and bookends and some character development for the genie that I really liked, too. Was the "cat washing" stuff in the original? It came across as a bit of out of place innuendo.

CHiLL Posted January 20, 2020 Posted January 20, 2020 The Gentleman - 7/10 I enjoyed this film more than I thought I would. Sure I had some problems with it, like unnecessary language for the sake of unncessary language, but the performances were generally quite good and I enjoyed the story.

Based on true events of sexual harrasment at Fox News from only a few years ago, most of which appears to have either passed me by or I've forgotten about. I thought that Charlize Theron's performance was very good.

As it turns out, I both stayed awake and enjoyed the movie. Yes, it wasn't 100% accurate, but the changes were in service to a making a better movie rather than an accurate biography.
