Usually I would be doing anything but IT for at least one day Today I have decided I am actually going to update my Exchange server (hosted dedicated server hosting a few domains for my friends and family), after updating the one at school a few months back I have come to the conclusion that my own server running Exchange 2010 SP1 needs to be updated to SP3 Roll up 5. I am not sure if you can just do SP2, SP3 roll ups, but I am doing each roll up itself before the SP and then again all the roll ups etc... So downloading was nice and fast just the installing is taking all day The unfortunate thing is I just saw the sun come out, I eventually decided I would go out into the garden and the sun went away again so am back inside staring at the loading bar again. However I am finding some cool stuff on edugeek to do at work that I may look at next week So what have you guys/girls been up to/got planned for the rest of this weekend?

elsiegee40 Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 Today I have been to the Tate Modern to see the Matisse cut outs.... really excellent exhibition And then I watched Anthony and Cleopatra at The Globe. Fortunately we were seated as we had a thunderstorm for part of the performance! Weekends vary for us. Sometimes it will be going to watch football (Luton Town or Arsenal), gardening, walking, up to London doing some culture. The kids are grown up now so Mr gee40 and I can be less prescriptive
witch Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 mrwITch and number two son went for a taster rib ride on Southampton Water bought for them as a Christmas present by my daughter. I just did the usual Saturday stuff - library, shopping, walking the dog, that sort of thing. Tomorrow, if the weather is good we are going to a local Dorset village, Witchampton, which, for a small cost, opens up a number of beautiful gardens for people to wander around. There are refreshments, too! There is also a "wheels" festival in Bournemouth.

Dos_Box Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Yesterday I was sorting out final conf admin and watching the rain stream down the windows. Today I'm still doing admin with a trip to Staples to look forwards to shortly. Hopefully the nice weather tomorrow will get us out of doors

In the mean time; I need an outside tap, stuff into and out of the loft, bike needs a wash, as do the cars. I could put a second coat of paint on the bathroom; or I could open a beer. I doubt the last will happen until much later.

caffrey Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 I'm doing DIY, job at the mo is to removing an old pantry, this involves me knocking the brickwork out and cleaning up those bricks and using those to brick up the old pantry doorway - then I'll be dot and dabbing the whole hallway then skimming / decorating.

She struggled to say it and I struggled to understand what she was trying to say. I guess she may have a lot to be thankful for but she's got a hard journey ahead of her to OK.

If it is any comfort, my father in law had a stroke relatively young and now it is only obvious because I know. Thoughts with you both.
witch Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 My MIL had a stroke a month ago and is really coming on well. It is amazing how the treatment has advanced in recent times. I am sure that she will be fine -they really seem to know what to do to help someone get back to normal as soon as possible

I have configured and setup a new PC for my mum today which took up most of the time (I don't mind she's my mum after all)!! I also have not one but two text from my LM requesting access to the administrator password *sigh* though I feel better now the head has reassured me they've got my back

laserblazer Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Went to trim the hedge and the battery is flat. I was sure I'd put it on charge, so I hope it's not knackered. Then I started scarifying the lawn but it's still a bit damp. So I'm going to have a cuppa and read my book for 30 minutes whilst the sun does its job.
