Sun? What is this "Sun" of which you speak?

I left some decking last night nearly dry. I was going to treat it before the new shed goes up. The forecast changed, and i has been gopping down all morning!

Not much sun today for us. Roughly 15 minutes worth, I think. It has, however, stayed dryish long enough for Mr gee40 and I to go for a hike round Riverhill Himalayan Gardens and have a very British bank holiday lunch under a large umbrella at their cafe!

No rain here so far - quite muggy and warm though overcast.

I have spent the day trying to clean my patio. It is covered in lichen and the usual Jeyes Fluid and bleach did not help. I do have a pressure washer but the nozzle is so small that it takes forever to do each slab, and a lot of water, which when you are on a water meter is not ideal :) All advice gratefully received

rent a proper water blaster for a day? I'd lend you mine but lead time and shipping are prohibitive :)

Pretty much doing what I normally do at work! I have configured and setup a new PC for my mum today which took up most of the time (I don't mind she's my mum after all)!! :) I also have not one but two text from my LM requesting access to the administrator password *sigh* though I feel better now the head has reassured me they've got my back :D

Sorted about three people's computer issues over this BH weekend so far, should probably start charging but they're all friends and it's just a co-incidence as to the timing!

When you say they've "got your back", do you mean the Head has agreed to overrule such requests from your LM, or that SLT have agreed that he can have the access but you're definitely not responsible if anything goes wrong?

My weekend consisted of around 24hrs driving across the country. I do now have a very lovely guy staying with me. So it was all worth it :D

Reinstalled my PC, going from Mandriva 2010 to Fedora 20. It has been a bit of a challege. The last time I used Fedora was version 14 and much of the config has changed. On the plus side, it is still quick. On the downside, KDE 4 is even more bloated, but this doesn't affect me too much as I run KDE apps but use IceWM. I have had to abandon kmail after 13 years of use; the new version insists it needs akonadi, which kills the machine. Since I have only ever used kmail to do what the name implies and I don't use the integrated PIM features, I decided to disable the services involved. The latest version of kmail refuses to run without it, and it proved too difficult to get a previous version running, so I've moved to thunderbird.
