Didn't think so :(

Being a boarding school it's a normal school day for us, bit of a downer as it was my birthday yesterday and we had been away, means I am sat here with a sunburnt face while my wife and girls are still sleeping at home.

Only minor plus side, it was a nice drive into work this morning and I get the Tuesday after the next bank holiday off.

No; I'm not working. I'm sitting at my desk reading this...

To be fair, I have done some work, and after a coffee, I might do some more!

(also at a boarding school, after a nice ride in)

Boarding school here. Normal school day for us. At least there's a small window in the office where I can see the nice weather I'm missing :(

Another private/boarding school we've only been back a week or so so the powers that be made it a normal school day. Next bank holiday is a long weekend for the kids so at leaset we'll be off for that one.

The next bank holiday falls in half term for us, so we get Monday & Tuesday off, does mean I have can have half term off and only use 3 days AL.

Care Home/Residential School here so yes, always in! Glad I'm not the only one haha :) sun's out and it's fairly quiet as they've all gone out on trips, so not a bad day really! Good chance to get all those little niggly problems sorted out that have gone in the "I'll do that at some point" pile :p

Yeah i'm working today. I've tidied up a shared PC suite and the group policies that apply to it.

Now working on getting some software to install by script for a new deployment of PCs.

I was working all weekend....helping out with the school Silver DofE in New Forest.

Out of interest, why do boarding schools work on a bank holiday? Surely the staff don't board, just the kids?

What do you think we would do with the kids? Send them home for 24 hours; some as far as Hong Kong? We could leave them in the houses; but the House Masters would die a thousand deaths... :)

What Andrew said. The house staff would have to organise activities for half the kids, the kitchens still have to run etc, it's easy enough to get the staff and day pupils to come in a day extra and teach as normal. It's not that bad, we get a day off in lieu for it.

Spot on, it is a bummer but it goes with the job really. We get longer holidays which mean less hours so I think we win :p

Fair point, unless you work or went to school in a boarding school, you forget about the simple things.
