Evening all,

A little bit of background here, I have a few decent box sets of DVDs but over Easter I noticed some Babylon 5 showing on watch, well I saw one episode (not one of the best from season 5) and that was it, I found myself reaching for my entire DVD box set (the only one I don't have is the lost tales) and I have started with the pilot movie "in the beginning" and I am now towards the end of season 2 and getting into if again big time.

The question is, does any other edugeekers have some box sets like this, which if they start they just can't stop, mine include

Will and Grace

House (need to get the season 8 set)

SG1

Star Trek TNG

And (as above) Babylon 5.

I also have all the original Star Trek and TNG movies in a box set, friends and to the manor born for the occasional drop in but not addictive like my list above.

Before you answer, please take note I am not responsible for any occurrences of become withdrawn from social activities due to resparking addictions to your favourite box sets.

There are a few where I have started and got sucked in.

24, West Wing, Walking Dead, Greys Anatomy, Private Practise, The Newsroom, Failing Skies, The Wire, The Good Wife, Battlestar Galactica (new version) etc.

The worst ones are the really good series that get cancelled like Flashforward and Zero Hour

I have just today finished importing all my DVDs to my PC for use in Plex... Turns out I have nearly 2000 episodes of various TV shows!

30 Rock, Andromeda, BSG, TBBT, Burn Notice, Chuck, Dollhouse, Eureka, Fringe, Futurama, Game of Thrones, HIMYM, Jeeves and Wooster, Jericho, Leverage, Life, Only Fools and Horses, Primeval, QI, Reaper, Red Dwarf, Scrubs, Star Trek: DS9/TNG/Enterprise, Stargate SG1/Atlantis/Universe, and Warehouse 13.

I've got 7 seasons of Family Guy on the way too (got em for £7, used, from Amazon! along with all the Family Guy movies, one of my missing seasons of BSG and one season of Scrubs).

TV Boxsets are so cost effective!

Well I turn 30 this year so not too bad for knowing it

I remember it from first time round - eeek!

I struggle to watch stuff more than once. I do get sucked in to binge watching series, I'm currently binging my way through "The Tudors" - which is great costume drama, if perhaps a little too de-costuming. I'm struggling with their Henry. He reminds me too much of Rick Mayal and I keep expecting him to go into young ones Rick mode. The chancellor, Cromwell also has a bit too much Blackadder about him.

I have every episode of Stargate SG1 in boxed sets, every episode of Stargate Atlantis in boxed sets, each of the Stargate films, every episode of Star Trek Deep Space Nine in boxed sets, every episode of the modern Battlestar Galactica in boxed sets, all of the original Firefly, every episode of Farscape in one big boxed set with Peacekeeper Wars, a lot of anime boxed sets and enough random DVDs to sink a battleship. :)

Hmmm. I've not watched anything for aaaagggeeesss but...

IT crowd, Black Books, The young ones, Sherlock (BBC & Granada), Invader Zim, Adventure Time, The Mighty Boosh, all the Monty Python movies. There's probably more. ..

I just like lighthearted things you can have on in the background, obviously...

I liked House up until 'Huddy'. Breaking Bad was epic (I'm still concerned for Jessie).

In need to get ST:TNG on DVD. Grew up watching that.

Don't forget The Wire, Deadwood and pretty much anything that HBO throws out - I think amazon prime have just signed with HBO for earlier stuff too.

Wow, were to start?

I've got a Netflix subscription so that helps out with things like House of Cards. 24 is on there if I ever get the urge again, as is Lost and a few others. Same with Sky Now.

On my Plex server we have Star Trek Original series and movies, Booth At The End (extremely good - must watch!), Game Of Thrones, The Following, The Amazing Race (some 18 series - love it!), American Horror Story, Breaking Bad, Dexter, Doctor Who (orginal and reboot :D), The A-Team, FIREFLY!!!! and The Walking Dead.

On DVD - Highlander (inc. The Raven), Babylon 5 (EVERYTHING!), Rome, Michael Palins travel documentries, Quantum Leap (1-2, 3-5 on Plex), The ORIGINAL Battlestar Galactica, Alien Nation, Shogun.

Used to have a copy of 'V' (orginal). Might have to get hold of that again one day, Although I've seen the remake and it too was surprisingly good.

No. The only box set we have in the house is Gavin and Stacey. Other than that I will watch series if they are on TV or Netflix but I wont pay more money to watch something else, I pay enough as it is.

Every so often we run through the Spooks box sets - I've got them nearly all, except the couple before the last series when it was all about Lucas North and got a bit weird. Well back on form for the last series though.

I've also watched through my complete set of Only Fools and Horses more times than I care to count.

I've got addicted to Wheeler Dealers at the moment though - slowly collecting the series box sets of that, although they are pricey for what they are.

Not a great tv fan - I only have the basic sky sub to keep the OH quiet - I prefer my foreign tv channels off my ultra complicated satellite system :D

However Ive collected

Who Pays the Ferryman from 1977

Allo Allo

Monkey

Up Pompeii original series from 1969ish

slowly collecting The Two Ronnies.

Also been archiving Top Of the Pops from 1977 onwards as they have been shown on BBC4 over the last couple of years. (Plus ahem acquiring unshown progs and anything from earlier years that appear online ;) )
