abillybob Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Just downloaded Server 2012 R2 to play with on a VM as a trial. If Windows 9 comes out next year as it's rumoured to be won't we have Windows Server 2015 come out :S??? Is there any point in even looking as 2012?

abillybob Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 I won't use Windows 8 in school but I will use probably Windows 9 so will Server 2012 be compatible with 2009 do you reckon should I get to know Server 2012? I think Windows 8 is going to be the Vista to Windows 9 (if you get what I mean)

abillybob Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Ha looks can be deceiving been playing with it on a VM and it's easy enough to get to AD etc... I could manage with it. Really only the Server Manage that has changed although I think I prefer it dare I say bit more graphical and I like that PRETTY!

synaesthesia Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 UI is seriously backward, OS is way forward. 2012 is perfectly usable if you a) learn powershell b) make good use of important shortcuts like win+R c) make shedloads of shortcuts
