I always make a massive number of mistakes while typing and always have to re-read what I typed a couple of times :( even though I can actually spell quite well. Same goes for writing.

Not my fault! Might be an idea to have a dyslexia test if your having serious problems.

We use Typequick but there are lots of free typing tutor progs out there. The thing is, they won't work if you don't practice!

We've used Kaz in the past here in the school - the kids have found it pretty useful - sixth form still use it i think.

tis 17.50 to buy

Pretty sure this topic has been up recently, anyway - you can get a 100 user license of this for schools for nowt! I received a copy from the OU and I think it is very good.

Were the free licenses from OU? I looked on the Kaz site but couldn't find any free licenses.

Is that on the website somewhere? Tried poking around but can't seem to find it - or were you meaning next to nothing? All I can find is some rather expensive server/online pricing!

Hmmmmm...... No I really meant nothing. Just for 100 users. But now I can't find anything on it! Maybe worth sending them an email if you're interested to see if they still do it. It is nothing to do with OU. I got my single user from there, which got me interested in it. But I found the school licenses on my own! If I find anything else, I'll post back.

I picked it up myself and can often fly off the scale on a lot of these typing tutor programs as a lot only go up to about 50 words per minute and I can if im on top form hit towards 100 words per minute so am often off the scale :D

Use a messaging service to pick up quick typing in your free time

Best way to improve your typing is go barrel into one of those Yahoo groups regional chatrooms and start slagging them off for being welsh or whatever - the insults fly so thick and fast you soon learn how to type like a maniac!

I trained to be a PA before I decided to go in to ICT so no probs with my typing. Learnt at college using a typing tutor and a keyboard with no numbers or letters on
