Hi all, Want to buy an old server, to improve my knowledge on windows server2003 Has any one got any links to a good server wich i can buy.

And i did the remote shutdown in case i got an electric shock when switching it off at least i am safe also i was not going near the server and fiddling about switching it off as i have to crawl under a desk and unplug it

don't worry i didn't leave the cup there but i kinda Knocked it over but its not all my fault and even so who would have the right mind to leave a cup of coffee on top ?

Well I got it in today to find a cup off coffee spilled over the server I remotely shut the server down then got a cloth and wiped it up. After 2 hours later I turned it back on To find a weird noise witch I have never heard before I informed the caretaker about the mess and for health and safety reasons. But I don’t want to start taking the server apart as I don’t have a clue about them that well. Could it be damaged?

@ greenfieldsupport yes we issue laptops to pupils who have broken or sprained there hand/arm or have issues with hand writing. Also to add we don't give internet access.People who need the internet should use the L.R.C/ IT rooms. Also if we run out of laptops they will be allowed to work in the LRC to complete work.

Hi All For one of my projects i have been asked to make an online community e.g beebo my space something like that thats were i need help i don't now what tools i will need or software to develop such a community. It has to be free software or around them lines. thanks all your help will be much appreciated

Why not make more of educational learning and learn them how to setup stuff like a domain GPO and more on them lines. then when they have built a working domain or network then see if they can maintain the domain/network. I think that would be fun for the kids to see what the job description (Network Manager/technician ) really entails

Now That is a good use for old computers.
