6Foot2 Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 ...I am looking forward to seeing Peter Capaldi as The Doctor... Apparently how Peter Capaldi's Doctor will look hasn't been decided yet: Even though filming starts in January: Link: Doctor Who: Next Doctor, Peter Capaldi, still hasn't chosen his outfit reveals Steven Moffat | Metro News

(A rather bitter) Colin Baker related how they asked him what costume he wanted and he asked for something like Christopher Ecclestone. They then have him that ridiculous coat instead :-)

The time travel of the Doctor solves so many problems... what has been said about the number of regenerations, etc is easily solved by going back in time!

elsiegee40 Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 ...er Colin Baker, not Tom Baker It's been a long week,..
3s-gtech Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 That wasn't Rose or even Bad Wolf Rose. It was something that The War Doctor could relate to created from his memories. Common perception is that it was Bad Wolf - that she was The Moment. When she absorbed the time vortex, she gained the ability to change time - the only way it could have been un time-locked perhaps. Plus, the glow of her eyes was identical to Bad Wolf. Loved it, anyway.
Trapper Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 And that Hurt Doctor called her Bad Wolf Girl
CAM Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 I watched it and I thought it wasn't very good. I had no idea what was going on, it had moments crammed into it just to shoehorn in some cheesy nostalgia and had a far too excessive number of over-convenient plot devices. I've not been a big fan of the later stuff mind you as none of it has made any sense to me!
GREED Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Just going back a few posts... regardless of whether he calls himself the doctor or not as John Hurt... He is still a time Lord who has 13 lives... so under that rule Capaldi should be the last life... We know they will find a way round it but for the record that is how it should be and also a great set up for a story line!
GREED Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 But forget all that it was the best episode in years... possibly only beaten since the re imaging by the first episode with the Angels... or with John Simm as the master. John Hurt was brilliant and worthy of a series to himself! And I was mouth wide open at seeing Tom Baker... superb writing!

E_G_R2 Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Anybody spot Ecclestones face at the end of the war doctor regen or was I imagening that?
E_G_R2 Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Forget the time lock, remember it has already been picked byDalek Caan so that he could rescue Davros.

Depends on if you counter the Sisterhood of Karns regeneration as a regeneration and also EGR2's point on the Troughton/Pertwee regeneration
LoyalHeretic Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Am I the only person who was expecting a feature length episode about the Time War (between Time Lords and Daleks) to feature more Daleks?
sparkeh Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 when Troughton changed to Petwee, the Time Lords changed his appearence rather than a regeneration is one argument. Also, in "The Night of The Doctor", McGann's Doctor is killed in the spaceship crash and brought back to life by the Sisterhood of Karn. One could argue that his resurrection means a new 13 incarnations?
GREED Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Anybody spot Ecclestones face at the end of the war doctor regen or was I imagening that? Yep... although disappointed that Chris didn't want to appear and just do the cameo... rather than rely on CGI...
localzuk Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Quite a few people don't seem to be able to follow it for some reason. I thought it was very well written, and made sense. I enjoyed it. Not to mention, it gave XFactor a good kicking in ratings. 2

localzuk Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 What happened to the Zygons? They were put in that 2 hour memory wipe thing to negotiate a perfect treaty with humans.
6Foot2 Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 They were put in that 2 hour memory wipe thing to negotiate a perfect treaty with humans. Oh yes. I forgot about that bit.
HaleStorm Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 In "lets kill Hitler" doesn't River give all her regenerations to the Doctor to bring him back to life too? another few extra their...depending on which number River is on, shes on at least no.3 when that episode happens though
bladedanny Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 I've heard people saying that the regeneration limit could be a law that was passed on Gallifrey and not actually a biological limit.
Rawns Posted November 25, 2013 Author Posted November 25, 2013 Hasn't the Master had more that 13 regens? No matter what happens, when Peter Capaldi decides he's had enough and wants to end his run as the Doctor, they will come up with some clever and ingenuitive way to get around the 13 regen limit.
