Rawns Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 My god, that was epic on SO Many levels! So good to see David Tenant back, watching him and Matt Smith bounce off each other was immense! The appearance of Tom Baker, the small appearance of Peter Capaldi, the gathering of all the Doctors again the end, the one liners, so so much to take in! I'm off to rewatch it right now!
penfold_99 Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 I'm a massive fan, but that episode could have been so much better, an 1.15 wasn't long enough. Steve Moffat does seem to only write storylines that have a back story of 3 episodes. Russell T Davis would have been writing parts of this story line in over a number of series.

One or two pieces will need addressing should he ever find Gallifrey though. For instance, where was Rassilon, what happened to him. What happened to the 'Hell' that the war had unleashed that we heard about in the End of Time? Still.... I can't wait to find out! Fifty More Years Please!

While I don't have many questions regarding historical discrepancies due to lack of knowledge on the original series, I always thought that anything regarding the time war/galafray was 'time locked' and nothing could be changed, and the doctor could not have any interaction with it? So how has this episode come to be?

(except the Master, of course) Or am I going mad?

Not a bad episode, but feel it missed out on a lot, and could have actually shown details of the war...properly

If you've seen "The Night of The Doctor", then you would have seen the 8th doctor regenerate into the war doctor/warrior. As John Hurt's regeneration doesn't call himself The Doctor then the numbering system still counts for future regeneration's, as by not referring to himself as The Doctor, the War Doctor is a completely different person (from what I've read).

Fave bits: Seeing the 13 Doctors converge to work together. Genius. Tom Baker as The Curator. What a legend. I am looking forward to seeing Peter Capaldi as The Doctor, that 1 second shot of him eyeballing us was enough to get excited Doctor Who is in a really good place at the moment and I can see it just getting better.
